I agree that hot dogs are always good. Don't know how fancy the party is, but perhaps some mini assorted sandwiches, or you could make deviled eggs, or even a crudite (AKA veggie) platter.

Re: New Years Appetizer Suggestions? Anyone?
I make a sausage bread that is so yummy!! Last time I made it, I also made a spinach and ricotta one.
Just buy a pizza dough from local pizza shop (they always have it and it's cheap!). I usually put in some sweet Italian sausage - take it out of the casing and brown it in a pan. Roll out the pizza dough into a flat circle, spread the cooked sausage evenly and kind of thinly throughout, sprinkle with shredded mozzerella, roll up and shape into a horse-shoe, securing with toothpicks if you need to. Brush with olive oil and bake in a 350 oven until brown.
WHen I did the spinach one, I mixed the ricotta and chopped spinach (if you're using the frozen kind, make sure you've thawed it and squeezed it out, if you're using fresh chop it and wilt it in a pan) and spread it out the same as before, sprinkling mozzerella so it's nice and cheesy! . But, if you're doing this one, you really need to put it in the oven as soon as it's rolled. I waited a little because something else was in the oven and it expanded and got kind of messy. Also, let it cool for an hour or two before you attempt to cut it - again, really messy!!
Cut into slices and serve! You can really add anything to them - my uncle likes to add sweet peppers to the sausage one - sometimes chopped onion or garlic.
HOep you find something!

Heres my quick and easy cold crab dip
2 packages of cream cheese 3 tablespoons of milk 2 onions, finelly chopped 2 tablespoons of horseradish 6 ounces of crabmeat, drained and cut up.
In a bowl, blend cream cheese, milk, onions and horseradish. Gradually add in crabmeat and chill in refridgerator until serving.
I use bread to serve it on...YUM!
