Re: New Years Eve
As someone who doesn't have standing plans every year, I think that it would be a BLAST!
Can you do that, though? I would think that a lot of halls hold their own dinner dances or something...you hall options may be a little limited, but other than that I think it's a great idea...

Re: New Years Eve
I think its actually a pretty cool idea. I personally would love to have a wedding on new years eve because every year FH and I are asking ourselves, what are we going to do this year for new years? We never want to spend a ton of money, so a wedding would be perfect! FREE open bar...well not free, still gotta give a gift...

We are getting married a few days before NYE- we wanted to be on our HM for NYE instead. But I would love to go to a wedding on NYE- I've heard they are a lot of fun!

Re: New Years Eve
My best friend had her wedding on New Year's Eve and we all had a blast. However, my advice is that you send the invitations a little earlier than normal, because some people may have some plans way ahead of time.

So places do have their own. However, a couple that I have seen have the night avail. So confused!!!!!!

Re: New Years Eve
I think it's a great idea because people are always looking for something to do with their significant other and an excuse to dress up. Many people go out to a nice dinner anyway! Three things come to mind:
- make sure your party goes past midnight. My wedding ended at 11:30 pm and I think people would be scrambling to get somewhere else in time or they may even leave early to get somewhere else!
- do the balloon drop; and,
- try to see if you can get t.v.s to show what it going on a times square!!
Sounds like fun..... Go for it!

Re: New Years Eve
LOVE IT! Originally that's what I wanted we ended up going for the summer b/c most of our ppl are out of town and I was concerned with the weather...If you can do it, I say go for it!! Crest Hollow was giving us the best deal for a NYE wedding.

Re: New Years Eve
We originally had looked into it, because it would be FH's 30th b-day...but it didn't leave us much time to book it....and it would be more expensive to book vendors. I always wanted a summer wedding anyway. But, in my opinion, I would love to go to a New Years Eve wedding....so much fun!!!
