New Years Eve Weddings

New Years Eve Weddings

Yay or Nay?
I am usually against a wedding on a holiday, but have been thinking about having mine on NYE? I found a hall that has an opening and can book it now. Every year no one ever knows what to do nye- now this would give everyone something to do.
But is it also inconveniencing others?

I think it would be fun .. You would have ur whole family together and have a really big count down.. I would definitely go. We always debate what are we doing blah blah.. I love getting dressed up and thats a perfect time too

Im sure some people dont like driving on nye but its the same as if u had plans .. Plus for our families were doing limos so everyone can drink and for hotel block were having a shuttle - you could do that stuff too

I don't like weddings on holidays so I would say nay...but I have heard of a lot of NYE weddings. Just be careful if you have a lot of OOT guests - travel prices skyrocket over the holidays, something to consider.

I was planning on doing a nye wedding...I thought it would be fun...many halls didn't want to do a nye wedding..I would say go for it

the royalton wanted to charge me 285 pp and 25 % service for nye, so i didnt think it was even a consideration.

crescent beach club also quoted me something similar

however, a mansion venue that i visited yesterday is charging same price as a regular night for nye.
it isnt my first choice for a venue but i love the ideA OF Nye!

we keep discussing- been going back and forth since last night

FH and i just got a STD for NYE and we are SOOO happy! I say go for it!
The only reason to not do it is if you have a lot of OOT guests since traveling then is more expensive and you have to worry about weather delays

FH and I went to a NYE wedding 2 years ago and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD....partly bc they were such a fun group of people AND they also incorporated NYE so that people still felt like they got to celebrate to holiday (i.e.; when the ball dropped they had the tvs on and confetti dropped)...it was prob one of the best NYEs we ever had

so I say yay!

The more I think about it - the more I want it!!!!

At first I was 50/50 because it wasn't my favorite venue, but there is so much we can do with a nye wedding.

im thinking my fh is leaning against it though

do it! i originally was thinking about doing this. but we changed our minds because a lot of fh's family is away that time of year so we scratched that. but i think it's an amazing idea!

ahhhhhhhh, i got an almost YES out of him, but he just brought up a good point..
A lot of our friends are in the night club industry. We would tell those who bartend etc months in advance so they could take off, but one of our friends is a well known dj. I would hate to inconvenience him or anyone else.

Still thinking..................

.........................decisions, decisions.

this and make sure your hall isnt also doing a NYE open dinner party to the public. you wouldnt want people from the street randomly crashing your party cause they think that its all open

we would have the whole location for ourselves- there would be nothing else going on there
