New York City Marriage License Question

If I need to do this in the city, downtown, I went online and there is an application but it makes you 'submit it' online and then gives you a confirmation number...

.. so i just take the confirmation number (not the form?) and then bring it with the ID and $ and then they can somehow 'look up' my form?

It's a big trek down there and I don't want to mess up the first time we go!

I got my license in Brooklyn and also filled out the application on-line and did print out the confirmation form and brought the entire with me. Yes, they do look up your information based on the confirmation number they provide to you.

Otherwise, when you get there, they make you fill out the entire form before getting on-line.

It makes life much easier. We only brought our passports for indentification. We were in/out in about 20 mins.

Ok great to know because my fiance's birth certificate is with his mom up in Albany and I don't want her mailing the original. I think we're just going to bring our Driver's Licenses and Passports and see if that's enough.

When you look on their website, It only says one of the following and passport and drivers license were on there amongst a couple of other things, but after I read passport, I was fine.

Also, I forgot to bring a $$ order, so we charged it, but on another note.. the person who's name in on the credit card, has to be the one applying for the license. Strange I know, but two people were turned away because their name was not on the credit card.

If I'm one of the people applying for the marriage license and it's my credit card, it's okay then, rigth? It says my full name (not FH's - unless we use his, which'll say his name)
