Hey ladies, I'm new to the site. We got engaged in Jan, and we(or should I say I) have finally decided to begin the wedding planning. I feel so overwhelmed though. We thought we wanted a destination wedding, which sounded good, but then we knew of the financial burden it would put on our guests. Then we thought we could do it in the backyard, as my yard is kinda large. But when we sat down to make a list it's almost 100 + people, and that's a tentative list. Now I'm looking into having it at a hall, park, loft, etc. The problem is I'm on a seriously tight budget. Any suggestions?? TIA

welcome! and congrats!
leonard's is pretty reasonable hall, and if youre on a tight budget def look into a winter wedding or a day wedding or a frida/sunday night wedding as all these bring the cost pp down
happy planning!

Welcome and congrats!!! If you are thinking of having a nyc wedding, I would seriously read the article on Theknot.com called $10,000 budget challenge. They planned a whole nyc wedding for $10,000. I wish I read it before I started planning but oh well. It's seriously a great article, and then you can plan around some of those ideas to stay in budget. My photographer is great and he's affordable his name is Mark Kauffman he's a vendor on here if you want to check that out. My videographer is great too his name is Tom Morgan, you can google him. My hall is really reasonable too (I am a bride on a serious budget) I am having my wedding at The Meadow Club in Port Jeff. Just some ideas to give you. Good luck planning!!!

Welcome and congratulations. It all really depends on where you want to have your ceremony/reception. You can look into restaurants for your reception. I don't really know places in LI, so I can't help you there.
If you choose to do it in a park, make sure you check the permit fees and all the rules and regulations.

Welcome and Congrats! If you are willing to have your wedding in Queens there are a few reasonable halls here. You can try Riccardos by the Bridge, Verdis of Whitestone, Villa Russo

Welcome and congrats!! It may sound strange, but by having your wedding on a Thursday evening you will save TONS of money. (there are a few girls on here who are doing that...) Also getting married in the off season and on an afternoon will save you some $$...

Yup, Thursdays save a boatload of money. Also, my best friend got married on the day before Thanksgiving at Westbury Manor a few years ago and had the wedding of her dreams on her realistic budget. Just an idea - that night people normally go out and party to kick off the long weekend anyway...why not kick it off with a wedding, you know?
If you know about how much you'd want to spend per person, I'm sure we could come up with some reccomendations for you!
Oh, and welcome to the addiction!

I agree with the girls who suggested having it in an off season month, on a Friday night, an afternoon, a weekday night, etc! Basically anything but a Saturday night will save you some money.
Check out the following halls: (again though, the price may be significantly higher depending on the season/day)
Majestic Gardens Sunset Harbour Coral House Dantes Riccardos by the Bridge Westbury Manor Leonard's

Congrats and welcome. I agree- Thursdays are a great way to save money. Also, consider an afternoon wedding. Most halls can work withyour budget. I would check out: Jericho Terrace (I'm biased), Swan Club, Fox hollow, Chateau Briand. All are relativity affordable..you can def. get them for under 100 pp on an off season.
