Newbie & Flowers Question

Hi Girls! I've been lurking for awhile and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm getting married 5/14/10 at the VYC! And now on to my question...

I've met with 4 florists already and 3 of them were local florists in my area. I met with Burton's last night after seeing all the good reccomendations on here. The price they quoted me seemed reasonable but the woman I met with said they would make me a sample a week before my wedding. I thought a week before is too late! I would want to see a sample much earlier. Do they tell this to everyone? Or can I request to have them make me a sample earlier if I book with them??

What does it hurt to ask them to see a sample now??? I didn't book w/ Burtons but I asked the florist I am using and they did it for me.

I would ask for a sample before I even book.

i think a week is too late...id tell them ur more comfortable with a month or two. My place does two months before and that makes me feel confident that they can get it together if its not perfect the first time.

I totally agree. I thought a week was way too late. The other local florists I met with said they would create a sample either before or after I booked, whichever I wanted. Did any girls that booked with Burtons get the same story from them?

Flowers & Designs by Gina set me FM and after speaking to her on the phone this week. I gave the colors scheme I wanted for the flowers and she told me she could do a sample CP for me by this Saturday. She is doing the sample without any guarantee that I will book with her.

i agree def ask if they can do it a month or 2 before the wedding....the last thing you need the week before the wedding is to freak out if the samples arent exactly how you wanted them
