Hey everyone... I'm a newbie here on LIW so I just thought I'd stop in and say hello.
I also had a question... my fiance and I are finally going to look at reception halls next week. I'm just a little worried that we're doing it too early. Were the places everyone visited ok with the fact that the wedding wasn't for two years?!
--sorry if it's a dumb question--
thanks-- krista

Welcome and Congrats!!!!!!
Its not too early to go looking at halls, because right now you will have a better pick of date options being that you are searching early. If you scroll through some of the posts there is a 2010 price thread where there are prices from halls that girls have visited.

Thanks. I'm thinking sometime in October '10 right now. We've been engaged awhile now, so I just want to get the ball rolling already :)

Welcome and congratulations! Its not too early for you to begin looking. As long as the place will accept a booking for the day you want, why not do it? At least you'll know its set. In my opinion, everything else could wait a while (except the ceremony). Alot of vendors might not even take a booking this far in advance.

Welcome and congrats! Its never too early to look at reception halls. I found with some other vendors, they don't have a 2010 book yet but it still wasn't a problem. Good Luck.
Btw, look for the thread on reception hall quotes/prices, it might help you out!

Hi Krista,
Congrats and welcome! I would definitely encourage you to start looking for Reception Halls, just to get the date at least! In fact, some of the RH's i visited weren't even booking for 2009 anymore because they were all full! The only place I visited that wasn't taking 2010 dates was the Woodbury Country Club (i don't know if they're selling it or what?) but majority of the places are booking 2010 so i wouldn't worry that its too early!
Good luck on your search! Let me know if you have any questions.

Hey Krista, Welcome to the 2010 family! Deffinitely not too early to start looking. RH already have their price lists for 2010, and some vendors will even give you the 2009 price if you book now...and if you start now, its just less stress you have to deal with as the wedding gets closer.

Congrats and welcome!!
I have to agree with everyone, start looking now.. You get first picks also some places told me the quote I was getting was 2009 and it would prbably go up for 2010 but if we booked we would get the 2009 price which ends up saving you money!
