Hi Everyone....I'm brand new to this site. Just got engaged, and we are planning a March/April 2004 wedding, so I know I have my work cut out for me as I only have about 6 months to do all the planning. My first project to tackle....a reception site! We will only have about 65-75 people, so I'm looking for something small...perhaps a restaurant or something that doesn't require a 100 person minimum. I'm looking for something in Suffolk County....any suggestions?
PS. I also posted this same message on one of the other boards...because I didn't know which one to use

Re: Newbie here...
I responded on the other board...
Congratulations on your engagement and welcome to the addiction!
As for restaurants...Danford's in Port Jeff - beautiful scenery, a little rustic on the inside, definetly good for under 100. Smithtown Landing is on the smaller side - not sure of their minimum. West Sayville CC is also on the smaller side - again, I'm not sure of the minimum.
Your best bet - aside from suggestions here - is to call some restaurants and see what they can do for you.
Best of luck! (A friend of mine planned her wedding in 3 months - so it can definetly be done!!)

Welcome! I'm a March bride too!! You can get it all done...for smaller venues...try The Three Village Inn in Stony Brook...very nice atmosphere, good food, great location! Danford's in Port Jefferson? Smithtown Landing in Smithtown (www.lessing.com)

Re: Newbie here...
CoCo's is owned by the same people who own John Anthony's and they just went bankrupt. I think they are still in business, but I don't know if booking with them is the safest idea.

Re: Newbie here...
Congratulations! I will got with LIPrincess and suggest Meadow Club (I am getting married there too). They have different rooms to accommodate different sizes. And they recently renovated the grounds so now I believe each room has its own gardens and cocktail room. I will also just give alittle advice, My FI and I wanted to get married in April as well but when we went looking for halls we found that there were few opens available. But we have a larger guest list and only wanted a Saturday Night, so we changed it to June instead! good luck on your search.
