so how soon is too soon to start planning? I'm seriously hearing conflicting reports. I'm really trying to shoot for June 2010 so b/c of June, I'm being told to start looking and booking now. I have a list of places I'd like to see (and in June to get an idea of what the gardens would look like, etc, etc).
I'm a pretty organized person (notice I didn't completely say I was :D) so I roughly wrote out a list of peeps to invite. Is this the best way to start? Get an idea and then go check out the place?
Also, is there a huge difference in prices between June, July & August? This is another conflicting thing. I'm shooting for a Friday night if that helps.
I realize it is 2 years away..........
Any help is appreciated. Muchos gracias chicas

Re: newbie here and completely clueless :D
well first of all welcome!!!!!
fine to start looking at RH- take your time, shop around and look at several before any major decisons. Day (sat & Sun) will be cheaper than saturday nights- not sure about June, july and aug as i am a fall bride. Guest list draft is good ideas so you know approx how many you will be inviting as some RH have minimums of even maximum amts for some rooms.
Good luck!!!!!

I booked my RH now for July 2010 because I would be getting the 2010 prices. Some RHs don't have a 2010 price list and are willing to give you the 08/09 prices. Most places I looked at said their prices go up every year.
Also, if you book now you get your choice of date, time & room (if your RH has multiple rooms).
From what I remember, looking at RHs June was usually a little more expensive than July & August (which were about the same I think prices?) Overall, a June/July/Aug wedding will cost you more than a Dec/Jan/Feb wedding. I think time of day (afternoon/night) and day of the week are more determining factors for the price!
Good luck

Good luck! I would say def look at RHs within the next 3 months or so. You can wait a while for the other vendors.
Welcome to the boards!

Writing a guest list is a good idea just so you have a general idea of how many people you'll have. That's one of the first questions RH's ask you bc that determines the size of the room you'll need.
Most places we went to had the same price for June, July and August... I think prices didn't start changing until November or so. I don't think it's too early to start now though - a few places we went to said they had ppl booking for 2010 already. But you still have a lot of time so I wouldn't book it unless you looove it.
I'm getting married on a Friday night too (in July) so if you have any questions about pricing at certain places I can help you out. Have fun and good luck!

I think thats the best reason to book early to get early prices! Because if the hall is any good it will only gain reputation and go up in price.

thank you ladies :D.
Actually Chicky, I'm going to take you up on that. The Swan Club is #1 on my list to look at. I saw on this site that under RH's they were listed as $65 a plate. How off or current is that? lol . I'm actually wondering that for Crest Hollow, Fox Hollow and Majestic Gardens too.

Re: newbie here and completely clueless :D
You should start looking now and and book something as soon as you can because you want to get this years price...the longer you wait the price for everything wedding related goes up. I say you and your FH should talk about what kind of wedding you want to have (size wise). If you know approx. how many guests you want to invite it will help when looking at halls. Friday nights are slightly cheaper than Saturday nights, but not by that much. As for prices being different for a Friday night in June or July or August...I'm pretty sure they will all be the same price because it's summer. There would def. be a difference for a Friday night in January and a Friday night in August.
