newbie needs help: under $80 pp

Hi everyone!

I've been looking around the site and everyone is so helpful!

Just got engaged on Saturday and we're already going crazy looking at venues!

We're thinking wedding in fall 2013 (never too early to start planning) and wer'e shooting for max $85 pp.

Ideally we're looking for a venue w/ an outdoor option but we're not picky either.

We're considering:
Swan Club
West Sayville Country Club
Larkfield Manor
Westbury Manor
Old Field Club

Any input is helpful, thanks!!

Anddddd any idea about Queens Botanical Garden pricing??

I think if you are flexible about the day - time-season you will be able to afford a lot of the places on your short list

welcome and congrats!

Also it helps if you're open to Fridays or Sundays...makes it a lot cheaper.

I don't know about Queens Botanical Gardens pricing, but I did look into the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and it was pretty expensive..

You can definitely get that price for a Friday night or Sat/Sun daytime wedding at Westbury Manor and Swan Club.

Congrats...how many people are you looking at. Definately a day wedding would be cheaper. I loved WM (so did all my guests). We did a Saturday night though.

Swan club and Coral house had good pricing

Of the places I am familiar with, Westbury Manor and Swan Club should definitely be within your price range.
I don't think Old Field Club will be near $85.00pp, definitely over.

Congrats on your engagement. We are getting married on a Sunday in November at the Thatched Cottage and the pricing is around where you want to be. Def check it out!

also keep Fox Hollow and Chateau Briand in mind for Sunday or Friday weddings. If you're thinking fall, November usually shows a drop in price. April-Oct is usually peak season for these places. you can DEFINITELY find a great place for that price. research research research!

Congrats & welcome! We looked into Queens Botanical Gardens and it was really expensive, same thing with Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. We got married at Jericho Terrace on a Friday in spring and paid $82 before taxes/gratuity.

Congrats on getting engaged! Definitely just try to enjoy the beginning of the engagement first - it is such a great time!!!

If you are flexible you should be able to find a venue that you are interested in at your price. Call around and make some appointments and meet with the venues so you can start to get an idea - take it slow so it's not so overwhelming!

Everyone has given you great advice on places etc, jut want to tell you if you didn't already know that the price they quote you is usually without tips and service fee. So when you do get your prices remember to ask what the total price is per person, it adds allot to the budget. For example my price was 84.95 pp with tax and service = 110.73.
