My name is Danielle and I was engaged recently to the love of my life. We are hoping to get married 7-10-10 hoping that our date is available when we get our dream hall.
I am trying to keep things to a minimum. I want to pay less than $100 per person. If I can get $50 that would be awesome but I'm willing to go up to $100. Any one know how much the North Ritz Club costs?
I also need photo, video, dj, and florist help.
I am willing to pay for AMAZING work for photo and video because those are the one priceless memories you take with you forever.
I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you.
Happy Planning!

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help
Firstly...congrats!!!! I recommend looking at the Swan Club...they are very reasonably priced, from what I hear.
IMO, you're not going to find something nice for $50pp, esp in July which is the middle of peak wedding season. You will probably be able to find something nice for between $85-$100pp.
I don't know for sure, but I think I remember hearing that NRC is out of your budget...I could be wrong though, the only hall I looked at is the hall I booked
Can't help you with a florist or a videographer as I haven't gotten there myself, but my DJ is Frank from FM Entertainment (www.fmdjs.com)...they are great and REALLY REALLY affordable...and my photographer is J'adore Love Photography (www.jadorelove.com)...they are AMAZING and also very reasonably priced!!
HTH!!! Happy planning!!!

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help
Congrats! Unfortunately, I do not know any RH with low quotes at this time. I had a horrible experience working with my caterer & florist. However, I would highly recommend Duet for photography & video, they were absolutely phenomenal on my wedding day. I worked with Danny's team and they were amazing! For DJ/Band, I worked with The Architects Music Group. John Arden and the rest of his band were such great guys and fun to work with! Our family & guest had a blast dancing the night away to the music! If you need his contact info, click on my wedding review link found on my profile. Let John know that I referred you so he can work with your budget. Best wishes & have fun planning your wedding!

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help
Welcome and congrats!
What time of year were you looking to get married?? I did the North Ritz in early November and pricing started at $90pp so it's definitely do-able! (that IS before any added taxes/tips/extras) I would totally give them a call and set up an appt. They were truly the best to work with and the service and food were out of this world!!! Seriously I couldn't have picked a better place
Good luck!

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help
Congrats! I agree with Jen- Saturday afternoon weddings are so much cheaper. You can definatly find one for under $100 pp.
Some halls to check out (that I personally looked at and reccomend): Jericho Terrace, Chateau Briand, Swan Club, Fox Hollow, Crest Hollow Country Club.
All of which SHOULD be in your budget if you are flexible and willing to do an afternoon wedding. Honestly, you probably wont get a Sat. night wedding at most places for under $100 pp.
As for other vendors. I am using:
Florist: Flower Barn (very reasonable!) Duet: However, I think they are just about booked for 2010 Body Rock: one of the pricier Djs but i <3 them

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help
I LOVED Huntington Harbor Club and they were like $50 pp and there were options to make it less also, the food manager was a doll and I thought it was beautiful overlooking the harbor.
Congrats!
I'm using J'adore for photography. They are reasonably priced and I love his work but my reasoning is more because I think his perspective mimics mine as I am a photographer as well and I can't very well shoot my own day!

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help
congrats and welcome!!! that's our date as well .. such a great date i still have some of the quotes i believe for that weekend, but most of the quotes i received were actually for sunday, not saturday. i will tell you that it will be difficult to find a place for that saturday night..i would def. check out sat. afternoon...i believe north ritz club is going to be quite a bit more than 100 pp...
for photo im using patken-they have a very unique style that i fell in love with
im using flowers by gina for my florist, but she only does 1 wedding a day so that doesn't help much..i would also check out verbena and burtons...
that's all i have booked so far though...good luck!!

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help
Congrats and welcome!
For a Saturday NIGHT over the summer at NRC, you're looking at at least $140pp.
I don't know about their day prices or Friday or Sunday prices.
$50-$100pp is going to be difficult to come across for a Saturday night in the summer, just because it's peak wedding season. Can you be more flexible with day, time, season?
ETA: for photo/video, I'm using Proline. FM me if you'd like more info

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help
Congrats!!!!!! and welcome
I agree with Jen. I am getting married the same day as her and I'm saving $$$$$$ just by having an afternoon wedding. Some things that I learned was that if you have and off season wedding you many places will work on the price so you may want to think about that.
I'd recommend Chateau La Mer. I was quoted $75 pp for an afternoon wedding in JUne, JUly and August but you have to add tax and all that good stuff. Ariana Waterfall, Brentwood Country Club, Windows on the lakes. I am using J'adore Love Photography. His work is just breath taking. I have pics in my album.
I've heard alot about FM Entertainment and After Hours DJS. I may check them out myself.
Jerome Florist gave me an unbeatable deal.
I'm still waiting to recieve the video samples in the mail as I am out of town bride and can't go in to see the video. Some companies I looked at and liked were Orange films, Silverfox, Couped up Productions, rambling rose and Infiite video by mike burns ...I know for sure 4 are vendors on her not sure about silverfox but you can do a search and find the company webpage from here
Happy planning!!!

Congrats and welcome!!!
I agree with some earlier posts that Saturdays in the summer may be a little difficult to find for under $100. A big determining factor is how many people you are having.
I would look into Jericho Terrace (they quoted me $75 for afternoon weddings on Friday and Saturdays...if you add tax and tip into that you are just around $100 a person. They quoted me $95/pp for evening weddings, and tax and tip on top of that will bring you at almost $120!)
I also recommend looking at Chateau La Mer (not only because its my RH lol), but they gave a great deal and offerred ALOT.
Remember that everything is negotiable!
Happy Planning!

for flowers, i loved mine which were through the flower barn in seaford.
if you are willing to pay for photo/video, check out sherwood triart or franklin square photography. they are both great!
good luck and enjoy planning. congrats!

Congrats and welcome!
The only things I think I can help you with are photo and dj.
For photo we are using J'Adore Love. If you are looking for amazing work at a great price, they are it! They are really willing to work within your budget, and they are such great people who care about what they do.
For dj, we're using Vinny from High Voltage. He is fantastic. really down to earth, doesn't try to sell you things you don't really need and REALLY reasonable.
If you need any more info, feel free to FM!

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help
Congratulations and welcome
I don't think NRC is that low for July, FH and I went there looking for October and were quoted over $150/pp++
Honestly, try my hall (Verdi's of Westbury) They pretty much have the same price all year round. and we're paying under $100/pp.

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help
I went to Stewart Manor CC when I was looking for RH and they gave me under 100 pp. Keep in mind though, this was back in 07. They are pretty good with their prices though. You should check them out and they have one event at a time.
I ended up not booking with them, but I do remember their prices being very reasonable

If you are willing to have an afternoon wedding I think the NRC can work with you they are $85-$100 and for a night is much more like $150

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help
Congrats! Like a lot of the other ladies said, July is an expensive month to get married in. Finding something for close to 50pp will be very difficult. Some of the things you might want to think of is, moving your date to a cheaper month, choosing a Sunday or a Friday wedding, limiting your guest list. Try Moving your date if you can, when I was originally looking to have a fall wedding everything we looked at was 90 pp + . Moving our date to winter literally saved us thousands, and we were able to invite more people, and have extras at our wedding.

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help
I'd recommend East Wind and Chateau La Mer for hall.
William Chang for photo, Steven Charles was an amazing DJ. I used Jacqueline Nicole for makeup, Miriam Shilling was the harpist who did my ceremony (and my sister's 4 years ago) - also AMAZING. FM me if you want more info for any of these vendors.
