Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help

Original post by mrslovelytobe

Hello,

My name is Danielle and I was engaged recently to the love of my life. We are hoping to get married 7-10-10 hoping that our date is available when we get our dream hall.

I am trying to keep things to a minimum. I want to pay less than $100 per person. If I can get $50 that would be awesome but I'm willing to go up to $100. Any one know how much the North Ritz Club costs?

I also need photo, video, dj, and florist help.

I am willing to pay for AMAZING work for photo and video because those are the one priceless memories you take with you forever.

I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you.

Happy Planning!

Check out Danford's on the Sound. The prices are super affordable and they are very willing to work within your budget... After looking at every waterfront facility on LI, my best friend just booked a Saturday night, July 2010, and they the least expensive BY FAR. Its a beautiful venue for anyone on a tight budget.

And for a DJ, try Get In Tune Productions.

Good Luck and Congrats!

eta- consider a morning ceremony / day wedding, the cost will be considerably less.

Summer is peak season. You may get a cheaper rate if you have your wedding on a Friday or Sunday.

I did not use a flower vendor from LI but my friends recommend Burton's.

Also, my friends used Duet for photography and video but they were booked for my date when I called them

For under $100pp at that time of year I'd suggest checking out Coral House, The Sterling, and Sunset Harbour.

If you are willing to have an afternoon wedding I think the NRC can work with you they are $85-$100 and for a night is much more like $150

unless ur around january, im around 100... it depends on the month...im a sat night 2nd weekend in Jan. She should def go meet with them and find out. Depending on how flexable she is willing to be, they surprised us with the price we got, but we wanted a winter wedding so it wasn't a compromise for us...couldhave been less if we did a sat afternoon or friday night, but we didn;t want that

Congrats & Welcome!

The North Ritz Club is beautiful! That is where I will be getting married. I will be having my ceremony there too. I am an early summer afternnon bride. The grounds are beautiful, and perfect place to have an outdoors ceremony (of course weather premitting - praying my day is not like today).

I will send you FM with more details.

Thank you all for the suggestions!!! North Ritz is my number one choice and I have always wanted to get married there from I was younger so If I have to have a winter wedding I will. I am having a winter wonderland theme regardless of the time of year so I will definately look into it. Thank you all for making my day

Re: Newly engaged and need hall and vendors help

Congrats and welcome! If you have your heart set on a specific hall try to be flexible with your date. Jan.- March is usually much less than the summer and fall months- Our hall quoted us nearly half per person for March compared to August. Another option is sometimes halls will offer a better rate if you book an upcomming date that has not yet been booked- Usually if it is less than six months away you can get a great deal.

For photo and video we are using Silver Fox.
For Dj we are using Starlight Express.
For Flowers we are using Flowers by Giorgie in LIC--He does amazing work and has great prices!

I didnt read the other replies so Im sorry if I duplicate anyones answers. I didnt see that many halls but from the ones I saw, these were under $100 or just at $100 once tax and gratutity was added on. (this is definately something to remember as your price which starts in the mid to high 70s pp will come to just about $100 per person and anything higher will obviously come to over $100...

These are for July staying under $100 pp

Crest Hollow
Fox Hollow
Swan Club
Verdis of Westbury

For staying under $100 pp at other times

Chateau Briand
Jericho Terrace

I'm not positive about July, but for August Fox Hollow gave us great quotes. Definately in your price range-even for a Saturday night-but before tax. Sunday and Saturday during the day were much less-very reasonable.

For photo i recommmend Thomas Paul and for video i recommend Golden Moments.

My florist was fantastic, Verbena Designs. And for DJ i loved Tommy Tunes. Everyone had a blast.

Here a link to my photos on facebook. I got over 600 proofs but these were some of my favs.

The hall we were married at was Jericho Terrace. For a Sunday after noon it was under 100 in November.

Thank you ladies!!!!

I am so excited.

Thank you for the recommendations!!!! I will check them out. OH MY I LOVE BOTH DUET AND J'ADORE....How do I choose?

Visit them in person; you may feel that one 'gets' you better than the other. We eliminated 2 photographers off the bat because we didn't love them in person (even though we loved their work). You can't go wrong with either photographer though! Good luck!
