I just got engaged this past Friday and have been on Cloud 9 all weekend. My FH and I have been discussing cost of the RH and what we can afford although since I am new have no idea what to expect. Can anyone help? I am trying to find a reception hall in either Nassau or Suffolk County that caters to only one wedding at a time. We are thinking the party will be around 125 people and are looking to spend under 100.
Any help or guidance would be great!

Re: Newly Engaged, Fall Reception Hall Quotes 2011
First of all CONGRATS!!!!! I'm getting married 09/30/2011. The biggest way I was able to save money was switching for a Saturday night to a Friday night. I also believe if you get married in Oct. or later its a little cheaper. Are you looking to spend $100 before or after tax and service charge?

Congrats and Welcome!
and like JohnnyandGia said, is that $100 before or after taxes and grautuity? From there we all should be able to come up with a nice list of places for you.

Re: Newly Engaged, Fall Reception Hall Quotes 2011
Congrats and welcome!!!!!!!!! When in fall cause some of it is the high season? The one wedding at a time venues are up there in price, so you would prob have to do a lot of bargaining and maybe would need to consider a wedding on an off day or afternoon wedding. Is the $100 including taxes and grat? For the places that I wanted but couldn't afford I asked if they offered brunch weddings, this helped the price out. In the end I am having my wedding on a sunday afternoon with a continental breakfast served prior to the ceremony, CH and dinner choice with a wedding cake and added dessert for about $102pp with tax and grat in May.

Re: Newly Engaged, Fall Reception Hall Quotes 2011
Congrats!! And welcome to the obsession
If you are looking for $100pp before tax and gratuity, I know that the Vineyard Caterers in Aquebogue fits in that range. For a Saturday in November we are paying $95 a head. For a Friday in November we were quoted $90pp. A Saturday in October jumped to $105pp and a Friday in October was $100pp I believe.
They do 1 wedding at a time, and the place is beautiful. It's perfect if you want a vineyard wedding on a budget.
Hope this helps!

YAY!! Welcome and Congrats!!!!!
Yes - check out the thread the Jamie posted and that will be super helpful. I only looked at spring/summer time months so I don't have personal experience with quotes for the fall.
But I always pimp out the Riviera in Massapequa (for obvi reasons) but its one wedding at a time!
Also the Sans Souci in Seacliff - one wedding at a time and sooo beautiful!!!!!!

Congrats!!! i am a summer bride...so I'm not really sure about fall prices. However, I can help with other vendors when you get to it. I'm not sure the prices but here are some suffolk venues:
Watermill Lombardi's on the Sound Villa Lombardi's Giorgio's Majestic Gardens Flowerfield Chateau La Mer Windows on the Lake Venetian Yacht Club Beach Club Estate
I believe most of these are one wedding at a time. I'm not sure about the last two.

Thank you everyone for the Congratulations!
I am still floating on Cloud 9!
I was trying to keep it in the range of $100 with the tax and gratuities if possible.

Re: Newly Engaged, Fall Reception Hall Quotes 2011
We were looking at Columbus Day Weekend either Friday or Saturday (10/7 or 10/9) or possibly the 1st or 2nd week in November.

Definitely try to check out places that are small and cater to smaller parties , a lot of the 1event at a time places cater to larger minimums like 200 people and above.
