Martha Clara is super expensive... Caterers start at 60-70pp++ and go up from there!Check mansion at west Sayville, timber point, east wind for rustic/lower price point. You could also DIY which I am doing bc I like the rustic look as well, but it is a LOT of work and won't be cheap!

Re: Newly Engaged - Looking for opinions
I am in the same boat as you, I got engaged on my 25th birthday (Jan 3,2015) and I have been researching non-stop. My fiance and I don't want the 'cookie cutter' wedding venue like chateau briand and those kind of places. We were looking up this place in Long Island City called 'Foundry' and it was a warehouse feel kind of place. For the space it would be 12-15k and then food and i believe rentals for chairs and tables. We want something different but its hard because alot of the places we like are so expensive. We are looking at our first venue this weekend, Larkfield Manor in Northport. It looks beautiful from the pictures online. The next weekend we are looking at Watermill in Smithtown. I love this one from the pictures as well. I will let you know what I think after I look.Amanda :)

If you are interested in the vineyard style like Martha Clara, you should check out The Vineyards in Aquebogue, my venue ;). It is also known as The Vineyard Caterers. It is on a vineyard but with no public access, and you do not have to bring in your own vendors, it is just like a typical hall where you pay a pp price but it is on a beautiful vineyard. Also, they do one wedding A DAY which was huge for us as we were able to pick literally any time to start ( we chose 5-11:30). Let me know if you have any questions.
I am also looking at Vineyards for the fall 2016, We have an appt. today, can you let me know how much pp you were quoted.

When I first started looking I went to Sea Cliff Manor because I went there years ago. Their prices were very reasonable. The only thing was I thought it needed to be updated and it was small. They said they were going to start renovations in 2015 so I am sure it is going to be beautiful once it is renovated. I would def check it out!Welcome New Vendors
