Newly engaged & looking for venue impressions and quotes
Hi everyone,
I just got engaged on Christmas Day and have a list of a few places that we are interested in checking out. I'd love to get some of your impressions and possibly an idea of the quotes you were given at any of the places. I hope that's not crass, but I just don't want to make an appt. for a venue and be embarrassed that it's so far out of reach. We're on a budget and possibly interested in checking out package deals. I know a few places on the list can be pricey, but we're interested in a Friday night wedding in April/May 2013. Probably looking at 175 people. I've searched for some reviews on several of these places, but many of the reviews were from a few years ago. Oh, I should also mention that we're looking to have the ceremony on site and that the food is important
Thanks in advance for your help!
+Giorgios (was there for a wedding and LOVED it!) +Beach Club Estate +Larkfield Manor (maybe off the list, as I understand they will begin renovating soon) +East Winds (LOVE) +Smithtown Landing (Never been, but have heard good things) +Shoreham Country Club +Venetian Yacht Club (looks amazing) +Meadow Club (not the most spectacular surrounding area, but have been there for a few events and was happy) +Bellport Country Club
That's all! I've heard that Timber Point is also good, but was told that their dance floor is not in the center of the floor, which I wouldn't like.
Thanks again!!

Re: Newly engaged & looking for venue impressions and quotes
If you can afford Giorgios, I would say that one or Beach Club Estate. Neither are inexpensive. April might be cold for Beach Club but you probably can get a better deal. If you want to save $$, go with Smithtown Landing. Venetian is nice, you should get a good deal before Easter. East Wind is nice but I would say the Estate only not inside the main hotel.

Congrats and welcome!! I only looked at East Wind and it was beautiful!! But I agree only if it's The Estate, I personally didn't like the ceremony room that you would have to use that is in the main hotel. Good luck in your search!

Re: Newly engaged & looking for venue impressions and quotes
Welcome and Congrats!!! I'm getting married at Giorgio's this year and couldn't be more thrilled. We looked at 10 other places and fell in love the second we walked in. Contact Rob that works there as the BM, he is amazing and so ahead of the curve when it comes to helping you with every detail of your wedding. We are so excited about everything at Giorgios (ceremony too). Feel free to FM me if you any specific questions!!!

I'd have to say Giorgio's, it's amazing and Rob and George are so helpful.

Clearly I'm partial too. I got married at Giorgio's in August. It was more than amazing, and I couldn't have asked for a better day. Everyone was so accomodating and the food - people are still RAVING! Hands down - and if you're willing - Sundays will always save you some money.

Re: Newly engaged & looking for venue impressions and quotes
Congrats! Christmastime engagements are the best :)
I've looked at a ton of places online but I have come across some package deals that seemed pretty good -
Douglaston Manor has package deals through arianastudios.com - it's a beautiful location, and the entire wedding is pretty much taken care of for you.
Chateau La Mer also has great reception packages, based on my research on a lot of reviews on this site.

Congratulations!! I would def check out these on your list, as I've heard only good things:
Giorgios Larkfield Manor East Wind (I personally love) Smithtown Landing Bellport Country Club **Also try, Three Village Inn, but I'm biased dance floor is right in the center of the room, all wood floors, so pretty

Re: Newly engaged & looking for venue impressions and quotes
I'm baised but I say Larkfield Manor. I've heard great things about Giorgios, Smithtown Landing, and Eastwind. I would definitely stay away from Beach Club. I've been there and the hall smells like sewage. I think because it's so close to the lake. It is also needs a serious upgrade on everything. Very outdated.

-Giorgio's was really nice, just not my style. -Venetian Yacht Club is very popular here, but again, not my style. It's very ornate, while I prefer something more simple. Everyone has their own opinions though!
I haven't been to any of the other places. good luck!
