Newly engaged & looking for venue impressions and quotes

Hi everyone,
I just got engaged on Christmas Day and have a list of a few places that we are interested in checking out. I'd love to get some of your impressions and possibly an idea of the quotes you were given at any of the places. I hope that's not crass, but I just don't want to make an appt. for a venue and be embarrassed that it's so far out of reach. We're on a budget and possibly interested in checking out package deals. I know a few places on the list can be pricey, but we're interested in a Friday night wedding in April/May 2013. Probably looking at 175 people. I've searched for some reviews on several of these places, but many of the reviews were from a few years ago. Oh, I should also mention that we're looking to have the ceremony on site and that the food is important

+Giorgios (was there for a wedding and LOVED it!) +Beach Club Estate +Larkfield Manor (maybe off the list, as I understand they will begin renovating soon) +East Winds (LOVE) +Smithtown Landing (Never been, but have heard good things) +Shoreham Country Club +Venetian Yacht Club (looks amazing) +Meadow Club (not the most spectacular surrounding area, but have been there for a few events and was happy) +Bellport Country Club
That's all! I've heard that Timber Point is also good, but was told that their dance floor is not in the center of the floor, which I wouldn't like.

TRY OHEKA CASTLE BEAUTIFUL PLACE ESP FOR WEDDING OUTSIDE LIKE MYSELF. AWESOME FOOD, GREAT PEOPLE THAT WORK THERE. GO SPEAK WITH RICK. THEY STILL HAD DATES IN APRIL/MAY. IM GETTING MARRIED THERE NEXT APRIL.

I am getting married at the EState at East Wind on a Saturday night in March 2013. They were very negotiable. Def give them a call. I love the fact that the hotel is right there, the hotel bar stays open as long as there are guests to be served, Sunday brunch the next morning with everyone who stays over, I felt like these all extended the event for us.
I live in Shoreham and I am to say that I did not know there was a country club here!
Giorgio's is so beautiful too. There are sooo many photo ops outside. I was more partial to East Wind from the start and honestly only looked at Giorgios bc of FH request. They were not nearly as negotiable as East Wind but I have been to many events and brunches there and they also do a fantastic job.
