welcome and congrats! I think you might need to take a look at some of the bigger halls - i would imagine most of the small ones are all booked up, esp. since you're only a few months out. I would take a look at Jericho Terrace, Fox Hollow, Swan Club, Leonard's, and Chateau Briand.
HTH!

There are a lot of places although many may be booked since the spring is quickly approaching...a max you want to spend pp will help in eliminating many places off the bat.
A Sunday night would definitely be cheaper compared to a Saturday!
Also, if you are Catholic you have to consider talking to the church first because their dates might be booked up as well and might not coincide with the venue you choose.

There are a few halls within minutes of each other on Jericho Turnpike. You can hit them all up one after the other. I'm getting married at the Woodbury Country Club, but you can also try Fox Hollow, The North Ritz Club, Chateau La Mer, Carlyle on the Green and Crest Hollow.
Don't forget that there is usually 20% tip and tax added to the prices they quote, so do you want to pay $100pp after or before that?
Also I agree with Tippy - def check out the church before when you book your date. We booked our hall first and had to change the date because we didn't want to have the cermony at 1pm and be rushed out for the next wedding.

carlyle on the green and north ritz club would both be out of your budget for a saturday night
if you were willing to do friday or sunday then north ritz club might work...for 2011 they were around 90/95 pp for friday night in prime time
carlyle on the green is well over 100 pp, I believe 180 for friday nights, much more for sat nights

try Old Field Club! It depends how many people you are having, they can't really accommodate over 150

I was quoted over $100 for both a Saturday and Sunday at OFC, both before tax and tip. That place is though!
I ended up at the Riviera in Massapequa which has the same rustic feel as OFC. Min is 130 for a Saturday night, not sure what a Sunday night would be. With tax and tip, Sat is over $100 pp, but Sunday should be much more affordable!

Check out the Watermill - not sure if that's too far from you, but I'm booked there for a Saturday night under $100 including tax + gratuity.

I think it is helpful to first decide what type of catering hall you want before you get quotes. The decor is important b/c it will set the entire feel for your event.

Oh ok...you had 2011 first. I was gonna say you are gonna be one stressed bride. 2012 makes it much easier.
Sand Castles compared to Carlyle on the green are two different levels of venues.
I liked Carlyle on the Green for their venue style. Only negative is that if your cocktail hour is inside you have to walk from room to room. Outside they had the back and that was nice.
I got quoted 140 for a friday night at Carlyle. I wanted a Saturday and they were booked into 2012. So obviously I decided on a different venue and am so happy that I did. I love my catering manager.
What are you looking for? Elegant venue...contemporary....country?
Just remember everything is negotiable!!!!

Congrats!!!
I tried to stay at the $100pp but it didn't happen for me. I would say you look at a few places that you like and see the different menu's. I feel it all depends on what menu you put together. I wanted the $160pp menu but I couldn't do it. I got a good deal and went with what I liked.

I was overly excited when I posted this that I forgot my Wedding will be in 2012 not 2011
I am looking for something contemporary and elegant. $150 pp is way over my budget
so nervous, didn't realize it really needs about 1 1/2 years in advance to start booking .. yikes

I am a 09 bride... but i am helping my bro and future sis in law with there 2011 wedding.. and they need to stay under $100...
So far I would say try
Cheatau Briand Fox Hollow ( there Jan-March can be very low ) ** Swan Club ** Ariana waterfalls ( $10000 package ) not the best** view on the outside but great reviews, food, service etc... def a place to visit Brentwood Country Club Miller Place Inn Coral House is extremly inexpensive** Great Neck Inn

Don't be nervous. Just shop around if your not 100% sure on the spot!
You can try the waterview club in bayville. Its a one wedding at a time and I believe my friend was quoted 100pp, but that was on a Sunday. Also Millridge Cottage is affordable as well. One of my Coworkers paid around 60pp on a friday night in the summer months!

I don't know how far out east you'd like to go or how many people you'll be inviting but Lombardi's on the Sound is on the water and really nice for a spring/summer wedding. You can definitely get them close to your price range. I wouldn't put more than around 140 people in there though.
