Newly Engaged- Starting to look for venues

Hi all! I've been engaged for a week and I want a summer 2014 wedding. I want to start looking around at places that have one wedding at a time. Any suggestions? I am hoping to spend around $100 pp a plate and I am flexible on my day fri/sat/sunday but definitely summer since I work in a school. Any input would help. I am so far thinking Thatched Cottage, Vineyard Caterers and Maybe Westbury Manor.

Flowerfield, Lands End, Willow Creek country club! :) those are all more than $100 a plate. $100 a plate may be hard to find, I'm paying close to that for a december wedding. I'd try the Cottage at East wind, they have all inclusive packages as does Mediterranean Manor

Also, if you do your wedding on July 3rd, a Thursday, it'll feel like a Friday since everyone is off the next day and you could save a LOT by having it on a Thursday.

I will be getting married one week before you and we chose Willow Creek Golf & Country club. We didn't shop around too much, so all I can really do is recommend the one we fell in love with. We are paying $125/head for a Saturday evening in July (we are school people too), but we booked June 2012, so the prices might go up. Good luck!

thank you all!! Unfortunately my sister got married at Majestic Gardens I loved it but rather avoid it! I am looking at Westbury Manor and Fox Hollow this weekend. Also I want to look at Thatched Cottage, Vineyard Caterers and im not sure where else. I have over 200 people so I am look for the right price!

Definitely try a Thursday like Lori said!!! I have a friend that recently got married on a Thursday (not a holiday weekend) however, it was in summer and most of her friends are teachers so it worked for her!!! :) and saved her about $25 per plate!! I wish I could do a Thursday but I wasn't given a choice in the day! :(

I have also seen Stuart Thomas Manor has an all inclusive package which seemed quite nice!!! :)

My fiance's brother is getting married this weekend and for a 200 guarantee they are paying $78pp ++ and then $70pp after 200 that is at Woodbury Country Club in December!! :)

Congrats! Vineyard is 110 per person. Thatched was about that, we did not like the vibe we got from Thatched cottage. Lombardi's all of them are about the price you are looking for. Giorgios was gorgeous it is a 110 or more a plate depending on the day and time you get married. Day weddings are less.
