This is going to sound VERY cold and heartless.. I’m sorry, but it’s how I feel.
So I’m watching the news last night and they say this kid got killed with horseplay went to far on the C line. So I faithfully waited for the news. The kid was ‘surfing the subway’. Uhm, what?
I saw this stricken kids all overly excited and hysterical about this kid who was just ‘there and the train didn’t stop” cry, whine, hysterics.
Please.
This idiot kid climbed up on top of a subway car and was riding on top of it when his head hit a beam and he was knocked in between the cars. Ok can we say STUPID? That should be a submission for the Darwin award.
It’s very hard for me to be sympathetic for this kid. His parents must feel like crap and it does hurt to lose a child but this kid was plain stupid. I mean Gee, let’s try something really dangerous and deadly for fun. This was like the middle of the night. Where are the parents? Who in god’s name raises a child to be this reckless?
I see these stories and think a few things.
A) Don’t waste my time with these stories about stupid people paying for the idiot acts B) What ever happened to parenting C) Bet you my bottom dollar the parents sue for attractive nuisance claim over this. How the MTA should have prevented this.
BAH.. sorry I just find this stuff annoying!

But could you PLEASE not commit suicide while I’m trying to get from Point A to B and mess up my commute? I mean it would be one thing if you were mentally deranged, but these folks are just stupid. I’m going to be late to work, home or other appts cause some kid wants to play with death. ANNOYING. Go find a bridge and see if you can bounce off the bottom and make it back up unharmed, it’s just about as idiotic.
I feel the same way.

cold or not, when I'm stuck on the train because of someone's stupidity this is exactly how I feel. When I'm at work or at home hearing about it, I get scared (the fact that there can be no limit to a person's stupidity is scary, no?)

What does scare me is stupid suicidal people endangering my life.
Like say....
A speeding Mustang on a highway in the rain. A drunk with a knife who's angry.

While I feel sad for the family, I think to some degree they are also at fault for not teaching the kid to 'think for himself'!!! Obviously he is a teenager, who can't think for himself, which he should have been taught how to do by this age...
When I was a kid and used the 'but everybody else is allowed to XYZ' arguement with my parents, the reply was: 'You're not everyone else', intended to teach me to think for myself

I feel for his family, but the kid did something very stupid. I have no sympathy for people who die doing stupid things like that.
Just when people die in car racing, professional and non-pro. You're driving a car 200+ mph around a track, what do you think is going to happen when you hit a wall?
The only question I have is, which movie is the family going to blame for the kid getting this idea?

I thought I was hearing things this morning when I heard that I kid died while riding on top of the subway car… I don’t know if I would be so quick to place the blame on anyone here. I remember kids doing some pretty stupid things when I was in the 9th grade… and I don’t think that all parents are to blame for this. When you get a bunch of kids together they all want is to impress each other… and now they are taking it to the extreme!
I can not imagine what his family is going through right now, nor would I even want to imagine! It’s horrible no matter how you look at it.

Yes, it is terrible to lose a child any child. More so when it's her only child.
but the Kid himself was S T U P I D
I did crazy stuff but never enough that I could get hurt or killed for heavens sake.
I mean it's not like the kid played in ditch and fell into a rushing water way. THat stuff happens.
