Has anyone ever read the forum boards that they have for all the articles... some of these people are so stupid!!!
I was parusing through the articles and was reading one about how the FDNY does not comply with affirmative action, women in the fd, etc. and some people are soooo ignorant. It makes me so mad!
They were making comments like ' oh they make the tests too hard, and no one can get those ... blah blah blah'
it got really bad because they started in on the race issue, and some people were really nasty
The test is open to anyone who wants to take it, and if you are not smart or strong enough to pass their exams then you should NOT be FDNY... it doesnt matter if your male, female, white, black, red or green... there is a standard there for a reason and if my FH are is in a fire I want to know that women standing next to him in the blaze is strong enough to carry him out. period, and not that she was there because they 'lower the standards to make the firehouse more diverse'
(Im sorry if this offends anyone, but it just makes me so upset that people dont understand.... this isnt a desk job that anyone can do... same with PD not everyone is going to be able to pass the test!!!!)
