anyone doing a morning after the wedding brunch for hotel guests and family? FH wants it but that will probably add $1000 to our budget. Is it really necessary?

it's not necesssary, though it's a nice way to spend extra time with friends and family after the wedding. but if you can't fit it into your budget, no one will be disappointed.

Re: next day brunch
We have a ton of people coming from out of town and this is our way of thanking them for staying and sharing our day with us. In the hotel we rented the banquet room for $400 and it's costing us $12.95 a person, which isn't terrible. To FH and I, it was important to spend as much time with our OOTer's and friends before we leave for our HM.

Re: next day brunch
The hotel we blocked at includes a free breakfast buffet every morning. So the morning after I'm just going to tell everyone to meet downstairs at a certain time if they'd like to all have breakfast together. we cant afford anything bigger. This wedding is getting outta hand lol

Re: next day brunch
We are doing a Post Nuptial Breakfast at the Hyatt hotel where our OOT guests are staying. We are having only our OOT guests who are staying at the hotel and immediate family/BP. It's about $500 or so for 20-21 guests. It's completely up to you-it's not necessary but we think it is a nice gesture for guests who are traveling and paying for the expense of a hotel to attend our wedding. You can definitely have one for a lot less than $1000. Feel free to FM me if you want more info

Re: next day brunch
One of FH's friends wants us to get hotel rooms that night just so we can do brunch the next day. I keep telling him we'll just go to IHOP the next day, hahaha.

Re: next day brunch
We are doing the next day brunch. We are getting a room at the hotel and the breakfast will be $18.95 p/p. We have alot of OOT's also and the night is over so quickly, like to spend a little more relaxing time w/ people and thank them again.
Also most hotel provide a complimentary continental breakfast and you can just take over the room if you let people know you and FH will be there at a certain time. I went to a wedding like that once and it worked out pretty well and then you don't have to pay anything extra.

Re: next day brunch
FILs are doing one for us, b/c we have a ton of OOT guests and it's mostly FH's family and our friends. They are getting it catered in to one of the banquet rooms at one of our OOT hotels, so I don't think it's costing anywhere near $1000....think about ways to do it cheaper! Most people will be hungover/exhausted anyway, but it's nice to see everyone again

Re: next day brunch
we are having one b/c we have several OOT guests and several of FHs family will be staying at the hotel as well. As everyone else has said, it's just another way to say thank you to guests and to spend some more time with the ones who are far away. Also, we aren't having a rehearsal dinner so this is FH's parents way of contributing as well.
