What do you like about it?

What do you dislike about it?

My DH has one for work but asking him is worthless, I want ladies opinions!

We used to have Nextel.

The direct connect feature is pretty cool but I never really used it.

I found that in crowded areas (like Forest Hills, the mall) that the reception was bad. Other times it was fine.

Personally, I don't like the beeping that goes along with the direct connect.

I have one!

Likes - convenient, easier to talk on, keep in touch with lots of people at no charge, no they are expanding their services which is good. Nick and I talk all day on them

Dislikes - the phone goes out a lot in certain areas which is annoying

We (both Harry and I) had Nextel, We LOVED the direct connect but we were paying WAY too much for the plan than we would ever use. Sometimes the connection would be perfect and others it would ****. We could not get a signal in out own home!!

We ended up switching to Cingular and love it!!

we even got new phones for free with it!!

I have Nextel and I love it. Sometimes the radio feature gets a bit intrusive but I just keep the speaker off. Nextel is national now and I can call anywhere from anywhere without roaming charges. The readio is cool for quick questions or quick I love you's.

the radio contact thing (the only bad thing is it is a feature for nextel people only. so if friends or family has sprint or something else its useless)

the price. she paid a lot of money a month for service

couldnt get a signal in certain areas

Verizon is coming out with a phone + 2 way radio in time for x-mas! I wonder if it will be less expensive.....hmmm

I run the Nextel service for the senior execs at my company and they are definately not my choice for a mobile.

While the 2 way radio is cool, the service areas are terrible and I think they are very expensive.

We used nextel where I used to work and FH also had them for his business.

They are SOOOO overpriced for what you get. The service is not as reliable as a regular cell phone.

The direct connect is cool but you can also find cell phones that can call other cells on your network (ie AT&T) for free. Direct connect only works with the phones you have programed... and programming Nextels is AWFUL!
