You know you're a Mommy when you have to 'plan' sex. Mu husband and I need to get away for a little retreat, so we are doing a romantic dinner and then a hotel, but I don't want one of these nasty places, I'm a priss and get EASILY skeeved. Anyone know of a nice place where we can go for a few hours to escape the kids? If worse comes to worse I'll just book the entire night at the Garden City hotel and we'll leave after a few hours, I don't care how much it costs!!

I think the hourly rate rooms are all the skeevy ones. I dont know of anyplace you can get classy that will charge you for an hour or 2... rent a room!!!!

that's what I feared, this will be an expensive night, but well worth it, maybe we'll enjoy ourselves so much we'll cave in and call my Mom by midnight and tell her we'll pick up the kids in the morning. Sleeping through the night, not having to bring someone to the bathroom or get someone something to drink, or even wake up AFTER the sun has risen? I don't even remember what that would be like!!!

I agree about the hourly places but if you want something that's nice and maybe night as expensive as the Garden City Hotel there's the Marriott in Uniondale and the Inn at Fox Hollow. Both nice hotels and I think they are a little less expensive so you might not feel so badly about leaving after a couple of hours.
