So I have decided that since my house is too small for all the madness of my wedding day (9 brides maids, parents etc) I was going to rent a nice hotel suite to get dressed, hair, makeup etc on my wedding day. any suggestions? i actually live in astoria but i dont know of any nice hotels there so i am opting for LIC since its not too far and they have fairly new construction over the past few years. thanks!

Same here! I also live in Astoria and there is not enough room in my home to have everyone get ready. I actually went to see the suites at The Courtyard Marriott yesterday and booked there, the one near LaGuardia airport.

I'm also in Astoria and did some research...the Marriot near LGA was very nice, good size rooms, clean and offered shuttle service to the subway. The Fairfield Inn was smaller but a little closer to the subway and walking distance to Ditmars & Steinway streets. Also a bit cheaper.

The LaGuardia Airport Hotel (think it was formally a Wundham) is also a good hotel....nothing like a Marriott but very clean, great service, and very reasonable!!
