Nice place for a reception in Queens that is inexpensive
Original post by tinkerbell907
Hi everyone Any budget concious brides out there? I'm looking for a nice place, maybe a restaurant where I can have a reception for 40pp that won't be over $50 pp. With the state of the economy right now that's all I can afford. Luckly my mom is making my cake (my avatar is one of her creations). My date falls on a Friday. I really like Caffe on the Green but don't know their prices yet. Anybody have their wedding there? Thanks.

Verdi's of Whitestone, has a few different packages, they will work with you and your budget just talk to them. Also, the Verdi's of Westbury may be an option for the same price depending on your date and the season (it's a little nicer) Douglaston Manor in Queens my fam had a party there and prices were not bad at all. Cafe on the Green is nice, dont know about their prices though.

Not sure how the prices are or a per person minimum but maybe check out:
Douglaston Manor - Douglaston Immaculate Conception Center - Douglaston Antun's - Queens Village Arturo's Restaurant - Bellerose The White House Restaurant - Whitestone
My brother had his wedding at the Immaculate Conception Center - it is more than $50 a head for their main room, but they also have smaller rooms which we've been to parties at which cost less. The food is really good.
Also, not sure if you want to look into places in Nassau, but there's a place on the Queens/Nassau border in Floral Park called Koenig's. I know it's more than $50 per person for the upstairs banquet room where they usually do weddings (I think it costs $59 per person) , but they can also do a private room downstairs, and it'd probably be cheaper.
I'm getting married at Immaculate Conception Center and its closer to $100 per head for the big room in January.

My first question is how many people? There are many resturants that you could do for that price...do you plan on having a DJ or band also? If so you need a big space....and a resturant might not cut it
Verdi's in Whitestone does a beautiful job they have a nice reception room and could porba;ly work within that price range
I think Cafe on the Green would be upwards of 60pp
Roma View on Cross Bay Blvd I have heard good things about
Roma View... I had a friend who got married there and she paid $90 pp.
depends on the room at roma view and the day I have had parties there and payed 40 a head but that was for buffet...for sit down it is more

My Fiance's dad owns Bruno's on The Boulevard in Astoria. I know he works with budgets all the time and the food is great(and I promise that's not me being Bias haha). If you'd like to look into it FM me.

yes, the reception house will probably be within your budget. also, why dont you look into having it at one of your favorite restaurants? rent out their party room or block a certain time slot to host the event there. just a suggestion. good luck!

For 40 people I would try a restaurant with a large party room, or try one of the hotels near the airport for one of their smaller rooms. Any particular area in Queens so we can pinpoint ? Caffe on the Green is closed as of January. Not sure yet what is replacing it.

Hi, Try Roma View in Howard Beach. Ask for Eric. Food is amazing! I have had many parties there including my bridal shower. Very much in your budget. Catherine

If you like food from Spain theres a place called Marbella restaurant that has a large room and their prices were like at $40 pp. Their website is Click me . They dont have any grounds you can take pictures though. Also if you book with them they give you a discount with the hotel they are affiliated with.
Forgot to say its in Bayside

I just wanted to suggest 'Matteos' on cross bay blvd in howard beach. I went to a wedding there once and it was amazing. Food was great. I don't know if they have smaller rooms though, but I would inquire.

You may want to check out Villa Russo, which has a complete wedding package (limo, photo, video, dj, flowers, etc) for like 10,000. Also Rigatti Terrace in Queens has a good rates.

Who knew that the beer garden hosts weddings?! That's awesome! I've only been there for drinks and BBQ! You can try Douslaston Manor, it's pretty, on the Golf Course---not sure how much pp it is, but I know they have some sort of package deal with other vendors--good luck!

Beware of Astoria World Manor!!! We saw their website and someone even recommended me to go see it for myself. I liked it when I walked in As my FH and I were waiting in one of their banquet rooms to speak to a manager there was a HUGE waterbug that was crawling on the wall. We left right away and never looked back.
