Nice Place for Dinner in Nassau

Ok-- FH and I live in the city and will be out on LI doing wedding stuff this weekend- but Saturday is the anniversary of our engagement- so we wanted to go out for a nice dinner..

The two places that we like the best are Palm Court at the Carltun- but we will be eating there on Thurs for our tasting and Trattoria Diane where our RD is.. but, we wanted to go somewhere different.. and thought I'd ask you guys for suggestions- since we don't know that many places on LI.

Also need something that will accomodate a vegetarian..

TIA!

The Broadway Beanery is really nice in Lynbrook.. sometimes they have a singer on the weekends, not cheesy though.. Its a very romantic coffeehouse but serves great food for dinner. FI and I have eaten quite a few times...

Maybe Citrus? It's sort of Asian/Indian fusion on Willis Ave. I know you're doing a tasing at Carltun, but have you tried their Wine Cellar?

What part of Nassau? The Fisherman's Catch is nice. So is Dodici in Rockville Centre. Or, try Passion Fish at the Woodlands. Nice atmosphere and good food.

I think more Woodbury/Syosset/Roslyn area..

We've been to Cool Fish- maybe we'll check out Passion Fish..

I too like Dodici in Rockville Centre. You can also try The City Cafe in Garden City or Baci in Westbury. All are Italian. Are you looking for a particular style of food?

The Jolly Fisherman and Riverbay are really good. I would also try La Bussola in Glen Cove. They are all in that area. However, Diane's is my favorite restaurant!!

If your going to be in Syosset, there is a new steakhouse on Jericho tpke called Sagamore and there a great restaurant called Mim's, they also have a location in Roslyn, but I like Syosset better.

what about cristina's in the roslyn claremont hotel or the polo restaurant in the garden city hotel --never been for dinner but hear it is good...

there are also a bunch of places on franklin avenue in garden city (which is close to the carltun) --waterzooi, 7th street cafe, etc...

have fun!

A little further west, maybe better when you're heading back to the city is Millies at the Miracle Mile in Manhasset. I have heard nothing but great things. Still a little west but there are a few places in Garden city but one that sticks out is Victory. Great restaurant and you can stay for cocktails after.

I really like Nick D'Angelo's. My FH and I usually go there each year for my birthday. Its on Sunrise HWY in Merrick. Its not as fancy as the Palm Court but its a cute place.

Diggity10 - When did they open the Broadway Beanery? Isn't Cold Stone where Broadway Beanery used to be? I'm so excited!

What comes to mind right now:

La Pace in Glen Cove is very good.
www.lapacerestaurant.com
Baang in Woodbury Common.
Angelina's II in Syosset.
Victory/ Waterzooi in Garden City West End Cafe in Carle Place.
105 Harbor in Cold Spring Harbor (very close to Woodbury).

My MOH told me about the Beanery too! I had no idea it reopened, and now serves food! She said it was very good too....
