Nice things about your FMIL

So much is said about the bad things about FMILs that I thought I would make a post about nice things! I think I am in a FMIL-loving mood because she came in from out of town just to come dress shopping and it was so fun.

So here is my nice thing: I was saying how happy I was that she was able to come, and she thanked me for including her. I said that I wanted her opinion and also I figured that since she didn't have a daughter this would be her only opportunity to go dress shopping. She said 'I don't have a daughter now, but I will be getting one - not a daughter in law, but a daughter'

She loved me and was so happy for her son... We went to see Sex and the City 1 together it was our time... I miss her!

my name is lindsay and I have a nice FMIL

ok go:

she loves to cook sunday dinner for the whole family and always has a great bottle of wine on hand

She always stick up for the girls when her sons are being idiots (which is most of the time )

She has been very excited to talk wedding, and as long as I keep her in the loop she is fine with not giving her opinion

*she has 3 boys and I am dating the oldest, the middle already was married 5 yrs ago, and the youngest is a slutt, so any female interaction she has she loves it!

** I still stand by my FMIL=FML**

A spin on that, it was my dad's bday yday and my FH wished him a happy birthday on my status... my dad said 'Thanks son' back to him...

FMIL made me a bday card (she was a kindergarten teacher for 33 yrs) for my bday that just past in OCT and it was all decorative wiht a door on it and when you open the door, inside, it says ' we adoor you'

At first i didnt get it, adore, picture of a door, lol
it was cute!!!

She hearts me!

Awww i like this thread. I love my fmil!

She used to call me her daughter in law and it sounded so cute w her accent but now she tells everyone im her daughter. At a bbq i said im sorry you have 2 bad sons. You should have had a daughter instead and she said but mama i do have a daughter and hugged me. She also says im her only good child.

She calls me on my bday, if the weather is bad, calls to see how im feeling and to see how my parents are. Yes she calls me a lot.

And its bad bc she never takes ants side. If she senses something is wrong she'll pull him aside and ask what he did!

Shes even called to wish me happy holiday for a jewish holiday i would never celebrate and didnt even know was that day.

Shes loony though but it makes her unique. She buys me little things and its cute that she thinks of me and remembers things id never expect her to.

Honestly im really lucky. That whole side of the family is amazing and included me from day one.

I love my FMIL her and I get along so good we shop together and I call her almost everyday just to chat LOL and I am her favorite but shhh cause no1 can know hahah

my FMIL loves to cook and always makes us dinner every night when she comes to visit. She also buy us groceries and just leaves them in our fridge.

She makes her own jewelery and has made me some beautiful things!

She always asks about wedding stuff and always asks permission before buying anything for it (not that she has to!)

She is just a really sweet and thoughtful person, I wish we lived closer to her so we could see her more often!

And her and my mom are new BFFs after meeting at our engagement party

my fmil passed away last april

but 2 weeks before she passed, I cooked an entire thanksgiving dinner for easter. Ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, the works. As she was helping me clean up, she told me she knew her son was going to be in good hands, and she is proud of me. I'll never forget that

I <3 my FMIL. She really is such a sweetheart is beyond happy that I'm with FH. FH tells me all the time how she tells him how happy she is that we're together, and how I'm the perfect girl for him. She's also told me numerous times how her heart feels like it's in the right place because she sees her sons are happy (FH's brother is also engaged).

My FMIL is adorable. She is totally helpful and has welcomed into the family with open arms... and best of all she raised an amazing son!

I Love my FMIL she is sooo supportive of everything fh and I do. She and I can just sit for hours and tells jokes and stories together. I am really lucky to have such an awesome fmil.

FMIL will buy tings for me she knows I like when she goes grocery shopping. She'll NEVER take money from me for anything, either.

Honestly, I thought she was going to be really intrusive with her opinions this whole time wedding planning and she's been soooo good, just going with the flow, telling us whatever we want, tell me how nice some of my choices are.

She saves all he rmagazines for me and sets them aside for when I come over.

She's so good to me. We've had our differences too, but I really can't complain, I'm very lucky with FH's whole family. I feel like i'm home when I'm there, it's nice cause my parents are split up and DAd lives in PA and mom shares a house.

I'm so jealous of all of you, I've loved reading your stories. I have been with FH for 8 years since we were 16 and I still don't get even get a hello from her. She is completely not involved in any aspect of the wedding because she had no interest in our wedding or getting to know me or my family. Sorry to put a damper on your nice posts!!
