So much is said about the bad things about FMILs that I thought I would make a post about nice things! I think I am in a FMIL-loving mood because she came in from out of town just to come dress shopping and it was so fun.
So here is my nice thing: I was saying how happy I was that she was able to come, and she thanked me for including her. I said that I wanted her opinion and also I figured that since she didn't have a daughter this would be her only opportunity to go dress shopping. She said 'I don't have a daughter now, but I will be getting one - not a daughter in law, but a daughter'
Yay

I honestly love just how direct she is. It's sort of amusing. She doesn't have a filter and says whatever she is thinking, and to some people that may be annoying, but to me I just laugh and get a kick out of it - even if it's directed to me.
I also love that I can literally just sit at her house with no one else there and talk to her for a good 2 hours over some tea and cookies. It's makes me feel like I am really a part of the family.
Same thing with FFIL for that matter. I really think I lucked out with IL's because they are all the best!

I absolutely adore my FMIL. I really cant say anything bad about her, she has been nothing short of amazing since I met her. Since my mother is not very involved in my life, she has taken the place of the 'mom' during wedding planning. She came when I picked out my dress, and cried like a baby!! She only has boys, so when we get together we really enjoy the girl time! She is so easy going, and puts FH in his place all the time! Love my FMIL!

I love my FMIL. She's an AMAZING woman. She's smart, sweet, hard working...and has raised her son to have good morals and treat women with respect. Can't ask for much more than that!

I pretty much have the best FMIL (and best FSIL) that you could ever imagine. I have never in my life met someone like her--she is the sweetest, most thoughtful, most positive person I have ever met. We get along SO WELL and I absolutely love her
And our moms are now BFF's and have been for a while...they are going dress shopping together...I LOVE IT!
The night we got engaged they happened to be together at my FMIL's house....so it made telling them so much easier...and so cute that they were together

my FMIL is the BEST.... you know how they say that son's marry someone who resembles their mother.. well it's SO true. We are like the same person ( when we first met, we were wearing the same jewelry!!!) Whenever I get to see her (about once a month or less) we also go out without the boys drinking... I love her to death and I'm so fortunate to become part of her family!

Re: Nice things about your FMIL
Although fmil and I have a VERY rocky histor I am happy to say she has been great since the engagement. She knows that since my mom is in Alaska and very sick this whole process has been super emotional for me. She has sat back and only given advice when asked. She came with me to see my dress and pick ou my veil. She ended up buying me he most beautiful headpiece. She also won't go MOG gown shopping without me. It really has been a 180!

I love my FMIL:
when i first met her not so much but my FH is her only child so she kind of took a while to warm up to me but she is great! She always said when she has a daughter she wanted to name her Samantha or Jennifer and now she has both cause im Samantha and her stepson's wife is Jen
She gets me little things all the time, like i randomly will say i like something and she will gte it for me, or i told her i wanted to look into renting the lost season. SHe is a libernian so she rented for me which was really nice

My FMIL never lets us do anything for her , we go there and she does everything for us , its so relaxing to go there. when we go to my parents i have to cook , clean up, do dishes , its a PITA. She also cooks everything home made which is a nice change. ( but definitely made fh a little spoiled about what he eats)

She always stick up for the girls when her sons are being idiots (which is most of the time )
I love this about my FMIL too! She is really a great FMIL. She's a little neurotic, but I can deal with it. It could be MUCH worse.
Wait was that being nice?
This was my 'I'm content with my FMIL' instead of 'I love'
