My FIL has a rare and slow moving form of lymphoma. We all go on a family vacation every year since he was diagnosed. This summer we are talking about going to Maine. There would be 7 adults, 4 children and 1 dog going. We would prefer someplace near the water with private cottages for each couple.
Any suggestions?

Mo, I am so sorry to hear about your FIL.
Here are a couple of places you might want to check out. I have been to Point Sebago but not to the others. Point Sebago is a great place but is really big. The Birches might be better for what you are looking for. We are considering trying it out next year.

I went to Maine on my Honeymoon.
I'm not sure how much you are looking to spend, but we stayed at the Bar Harbor Inn, in Bar Harbor. I don't think they have cottages, but they do have a building called the Newport Building, which kind of looks like cottages.
