OMG! So excited!

hahaha - i have to say i thought that the dress was MUCH nicer in person - which usually I always like the photos better - but not this time, I saw the dress on the hanger and was like then i looked at the price and was like

i feel a little guilty though - it was a lot more than i ever expected or wanted to pay - FH came with me and he was like if you love it, just get it and i kept saying are you sure? and he said do you love it and i said yes, and he said good, he loved it too - but then i got home and felt a little guilty - i feel like a brat sometimes when it comes to this wedding b/c i know that my FH will do 'almost' anything that i want for this wedding just because he wants me to be happy and i feel bad because i dont ever want him to feel like i am taking advantage of him for it - i actually am going to move the money for the deposit back into his account and at least pay for that part of it - i even told him that i dont a diamond wedding band anymore, i rather just get plain platinum to match my e-ring and then later on down the road i can upgrade the band - then he said im nuts and rolled his eyes at me

but i am so excited - i cant wait to wear it - i think i might wear it before cake so i have pics in it - i love it that much - plus i want to get my moneys worth

im a little nervous b/c they said the dress will be in, in time for the wedding - but it might cut it close, like within 2-3 weeks of the wedding - so that is a little stressful....

I was going to say Priscilla of Boston too the other day, but I didn't see anything on the site I thought you'd like. They do have some really nice special occasion dresses though. It sounds like you found exactly what you wanted!! See, it was meant to be...don't feel guilty. You and your FH sound so cute...so sweet the way you are with each other. Nice of you to make the extra effort to make him feel appreciated. I can't wait to see pictures of it on you...it looked so pretty, I'm sure it's going to look gorgeous on you!

aww thanks! its just weird because i never had much growing up, i dont want to say my family was poor but i didnt get things that i wanted, i mean i wouldnt even ask for anything that i wanted because i knew my parents couldnt afford it (like clothes, toys and stuff)...i never had bday parties or a sweet 16 or anything like that, no designer clothes, i grew up on payless shoes you know stuff like that i got a job as soon as i could and then i always paid for my own things and i still couldnt afford much so for me, this whole wedding is totally out of the ordinary - its like a mindtrip to me - but then sometimes i feel bad about it, like guilty, like i dont deserve it - i dont know, its hard to explain - its just to me this whole wedding feels so luxurious because its like nothing ive ever had happen to me before KWIM? but anyways thanks! i cant wait to wear it and dance my butt off in it

Oh, Nicole - don't worry! Your FH loves you and just wants you to be happy. If the tables were turned and FH wanted to change into some sexy outfit before cake, you would pay for it if you could (LOL)!! You're only getting married once, so make it memorable. I'm sure you can do something special for FH to show him how grateful you are, even if it's not a monetary thing. ENJOY IT!!!!

You HAVE TO post pics after it comes in and you try it on!

Also - my dress came in a few weeks earlier than expected both times (ha - I say both times b/c my dress had to be custom ordered to my EXACT height w/shoes and the first time they botched it and had to order another one ). So don't worry - you should be good to go timing wise.

Awww, but that's all the more reason NOT to feel like you're being a brat - you've never been a brat your entire life so it's not like you have a snobbish sense of entitlement. You're just enjoying having a lot for the first time. And FH must feel wonderful to be the person to give you that. Good for you guys!!!

You're welcome! Aww, I understand what you are saying...you DO deserve it though. It sounds like you became independent at a very young age. Your FH sounds like a hard worker and very responsible. You both have something to show for it. If I remember correctly, you're both paying for the wedding yourselves. That is quite an accomplishment for such a young couple...you should be proud of yourselves. You definitely sound appreciative of everything you have. Yes, it may feel luxurious to you because you're not accustomed to having the luxuries. So, I say all the more reason why you deserve it. You both sound like you have good heads on your shoulders and don't take what you have for granted. Have the wedding of your dreams...you hope to do it only once! After the wedding you will be back on track, so enjoy this and try not to feel guilty about it. And, from what I remember, you got a really good price on your dress, which I love by the way. So, don't feel guilty that you're splurging on this dress.

I'm confused..did you get a different dress???

i got a reception dress

i went to priscilla of boston and got a melissa sweet dress - the front is very sexy - low plunge, almost reminds me of a slip dress and then the back is adoreable - the entire back is open and then there is a little bustle over the butt - and the straps and beading are so pretty in person - i wish i had my camera - i forgot it i was so pissed!

im praying i dont have any lurkers only FH and my best friend know about the dress - its a secret not even my mom knows! i might delete all my posts about it later
