Night before ?

My FH and I already live together, do you think it is a bad idea for me to sleep at our apt with him the night before the wedding? My sister would drive me to my parents in the morning. I know I will sleep better in my own bed and I wouldn't have to lug a bunch of stuff to my parents house. I also think I would be much calmer if I see him and spend a little alone time with him the day of the wedding.

Re: Night before ?

I feel exactly the same way about being more comfortable in my own bed, but I am still debating on this one since I am so traditional. Do what makes you feel best. Alot of people see each other to take pic before the ceremony nowadays, so if you see him in the morning, I don't think it would bea big deal.

Re: Night before ?

I too live with FI and want to sleep in my own bed, so I am sending him off to his moms! I would like to see him the night of and morning of, but I want him to see me for the first time as I walk down the aisle

Re: Night before ?

I thought I was the only one who was having this dilema. We have lived together and I would be so much more comfortable in my own bed. I honestly don't think I would sleep a wink at my Mom's house. My fiance thinks I should spend the night at my Mom's because many of the BM will probably stay there too. It's still up for debate...

Re: Night before ?

I'm debating this one too. FH and I will be living together by the time of the wedding and I think I will feel the same way about being more relaxed and rested. My parents want me to stay at their house. We are doing photos before the ceremony so it's not a concern for us to see each other before the wedding. I'm going to try to wait and see until closer to the wedding.

Re: Night before ?

My FH and I also live together. Our families and bridal parties are planning on staying in the hotel the night before, so staying together in our own apartment vs. apart in our parents' homes is not an issue. But I did want to stay in the same hotel room with my FH the night before. We will be seeing each other for pictures before the ceremony anyway. I am just not very traditional. My best friend absolutely forbid me! She said she was getting sick of my anti-bride ways

Re: Night before ?

I also will be living with my FH at the time of the wedding, but we wont be staying at our apartment for it will be in Florida, and the wedding is up here.

I'm a very traditional woman, and under no circumstances will my FH look at me before I walk down the aisle.

I will be staying probably at my father's house, (where all my furniture is), and he will be staying at a nearby hotel.

Re: Night before ?

As of right now we have a hotel room together for the night before. Everyone keeps telling us we're not supposed to be together the night before, but who cares! We'll be much calmer and get a better night's sleep if we're together.

Re: Night before ?

I stayed at a hotel w/ my Mom & MoH. We checked in & had snacks & a little wine & another friend came to hang out. We had 1 hour massages at the hotel & came back to the room & put tea bags on our eyes & went to bed early. I left DH home at our house with his Mom & his daughter. My son slept over my Dad's.
I think I slept great & was totally relaxed, DH said he couldn't sleep because I wasn't in our bed with him, but I knew he wouldn't sleep well anyway.

I'm really glad I spent the night away-we practiced our vows over the phone before we went to bed & it did add a little romance & excitment to the day even though we took pics before the ceremony.

You should do whatever makes YOU feel the best-it's your day

You ladies are going to ban me from responding because I always end up babbling

Re: Night before ?

I stayed at my apartment in my own bed. A BM (my cousin) kept me company... I knew if I went to my mom's I wouldn't sleep right.

DH left for his parents home about 8 the night before...actually he wanted to do this...

Re: Night before ?

My FH & I will be living together by the time we get married and I THINK this is what we'll be doing....

I will be staying at my house with my MOH & at least 1 BM (my daughter). The other BM is his sister and I'm not sure yet where she will stay. FH will go stay at his parents.

We will see each other before the ceremony to take our pictures.

Re: Night before ?

FI and I live together, so I'm going to my mom's the night before and he's staying in the condo. No matter where you sleep, I doubt you get too much sleep the night before anyway!!! I really wanted to be with my mom that night.

Re: Night before ?

My DH and I lived together but I made him sleep at his BM's apartment the night before. It worked out great because I had my bridesmaids stay over the night before as a little slumber party and everyone was already at my house that morning to get ready.

At first Luke didnt want to do it but he was glad he did because he got some extra bonding time in.

This is a big debate!! There are times I just say what the hell we'll boh stay here! But then I want to be 'somewhat' traditional!

Re: Night before ?

FH invited his parents to stay with us for the 5 days before the wedding.
One whole corner of our apartment is crammed floor to ceiling with bridal shower gifts, wedding gifts and assorted wedding related crap. The dining room table has become a DIY wedding craft center.

Add the future in-laws to the mix on the couch for 5 days before the wedding, in our 700 square foot, 1 bedroom/1 bathroom, Manhattan apartment and you have a bride that's bound to go postal right before the big day. Like I want to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner for 4 people every night the week before my wedding! UGH!
I was planning on staying at a hotel the night before but I think I might actually check in TWO days before, just to put some breathing space between all of us.
