night wedding pictures

Just hoping someone could point me in the direction of looking at photos of night time weddings. I just booked my december wedding and realized that after the ceremony- leaving the church - it is going to be dark out. And I honestly don't know if I've ever seen pictures of people leaving church in the dark. Just nervous now that the pictures are going to be, well, dark.

I'm sure the photog will have some special lighting. I would call the photog to put your mind at ease.

There was a recent bride who had some pics taken at night....GKBarbie???? something like that. Her photographer was Amanda Piccone and her pics were beautiful

look in my album, we left the church, and rushed to get a few pics outside before 5 pm. we were still able to get some good shots. i didnt do a receiving line, and we were able to get some decent daylight outside the church, and we drove close to do some outdoor pics.

thanks girls! i can't believe I just thought about the sunsetting early now. lol I haven't booked a photographer yet, so I suppose this will have to be something I discuss with them....

If you know of any other past brides albums I can take a look at to make me feel better, please let me know!

Thanks so much

my friend had a November wedding last year and by the time we got to the RH is was dark out and we were planning on taking photos on the beach by the RH, but the photog used his lighting magic and I have to say the pics came out great!

If your not opposed to see'ing FH before hand you can try to get both day and night pictures in.

We are getting married at 7pm and i know in may it is still light out or the sun is just setting at this time, but i didnt want to leave all my pictures to be taken at night, so we opted to see each other before hand. And this way we get to enjoy more of our wedding too.

i was thinking about doing that, but I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I don't think it is the superstition about seeing the bride before hand that I'm worried about, i guess i want that moment when the doors open and he's at the altar seeing me for the first time....corny I know, but special too.

I've been thinking about this too. I can't decide how I feel about seeing each other before the ceremony. I think even if you do see each other before the ceremony, it will still be really special! Have you booked the church yet? Is it possible to do it earlier in the day so that afterwards it is still light out? What time does your CH begin?
I was thinking about maybe having the ceremony early in the afternoon, then taking pix outside, then inside and then going to the CH. But then there are 2 problems that I can think of ... more people might skip the church since the time gap between the church and CH will be pretty long and it just might be such a long time between ceremony and CH that we'll be bored - like how long does it take to do all the pix?! Please let me know what you think bc I can't decide either!

The church is booked - supposed to start at 430p but I think I'm going to ask them if it can start earlier. CH can start whenever I want, b/c my wedding is on a friday. But I agree that if there is too much time between church and CH that a decent amount of people will skip church. I don't know long it takes to take all of the pics, but I guess it depends on how many you want. I think as of right now I'm going to attempt to get my ceremony moved up, and not see each other until the big moment...
