Nightmares?

Nightmares?

For the past couple of nights Gianna has been crying, more like screaming actually, in her sleep!! Joe FLEW out of bed this morning because she let out a wail that scared the crap out of him!! She was sound asleep, but kept whimpering and crying. She was also trying to stick her fists in her mouth, so I'm thinking it's her teeth.

Anybody else have this problem?

Deb!

Mia used to do the same thing ALOT!!! OMG I started waking her by talking in her ear and telling her 'Mommy is here'....

Those episodes has subsided..I have no idea what that is/was..

Ryan did the same thing - I thought it was the teeth...he still does it once in a while when the new ones get to a certain point...

Oh ok, it's not just my cub then!!! Whew...

Joe thought I was out of my mind when I said she might have had a bad dream! He said 'what could she possibly be dreaming about?' and I told him 'no bottle, dirty diaper, mommy not here' so pfffffttt and go back to bed!!! He tells me 'she doesn't know what's going on' -- like he does!! LOL

I just rubbed her belly and did what you did Camille, told her that 'mama's here'!!

And when she whimpers, it sounds like 'ma' and I go 'I'm right here'!!

My poor cub!!!

Babies usually don't have nightmares till they are about 9 months.

Another thing for us to look forward too

Deb - Bob always said the same thing to me...what could he be dreaming about?? What do they know?! When he slept with me I would see him smile in his sleep and I would think he was dreaming about boobies and bottles and binkies and Mommy!!

I do think that the nightmares/night terrors actually start when they are a little older...I am NOT looking forward to that!

Wow you just brought back a memory for me. Luke did that a few times awhile ago - maybe he was around Gianna's age, I remember it was before we changed pediatricians so he was less than 6 months. Boy did it freaked us out. He was crying inconsolably but with his eyes shut and was seemingly asleep and couldnt be awakened. It was the weirdest thing. The pediatrician was never able to tell us what it was but he only had a few so it ended up passing. I hope it passes for Gianna as quickly. Poor Mommy

RE: Night terrors - My 3 year old niece had one just a month or 2 ago and my brother said that was absolutely the freakiest thing he ever experienced. Her eyes were wide open.

Night terrors are freaky! My friend's kids BOTH experience them (I'm not sure what causes them), but she told me that it is VERY dangerous to wake them during a night terror (again, not sure why).

Anyone know?
