Hey Nina! My computer hasn''t been working so I haven''t been online for a while. What did you finally do about Aruba? I called Liberty and Herricks travel...I got a $200 difference between the 2. And I also called MGM (from the bulletin board''s recommendations) and her price is even higher than Herricks. (only slightly though)
Also...we were decided on the Marriott, but I saw a few recommendations for Bucuti''s...have you heard of that place? It is on the low rise part of the island...large beach, smaller pool, more private, and no children. It is much cheaper than the other hotels. So I can''t decide!! I am wondering what you chose.
I am a little ticked off at the agent from Herricks. We actually decided to go with the Marriott and her package. So I called her last week to make arrangements, and on Weds. I gave her the OK to charge my credit card with the deposit. I also said to please call my fiance to give him the details, cuz I was on a break at work and I couldn''t talk anymore. Well, I got a message Fri. afternoon saying she left a message for my fiance to call her and she has yet to hear back from him. She also said that I told her NOT to charge the deposit until she spoke to him...I didn''t get this message until 5:30 friday night, and she doesn''t work all weekend. So, we cannot make any arrangements until they open again on Monday. How ridiculous is that?? I got so annoyed.
So now I hear about the Bucuti and maybe it was a good thing she didn''t charge my credit card. I don''t know!!!! Let me know what you decided!!

joy....so good to hear from you! well, we haven't booked anything yet, b/c MCM and Travel Unlimited told me that there is supposed to be a 30% sale going on beginning the 11th, so I am going to call them on monday and book either the Marriott or Wyndham. If this sale is true I found out I can get the pkg (air, hotel, taxes) for less than $1000 each for a del ocean front room at the Wyndham. As you know, my FH and I are really set on the view. So for us, the only thing about the Marriott is that it is not as high of a bldg, and we'd be paying more there for their best room than the best room (at a higher floor, so better view) at the Wyndham.
Anyway, I'll let you know Weds. It seems like it did work out that she didn't charge your card. Ask about the special on Monday. Do you mind asking what prices you got and waht rooms did you find the $200 difference for? No, I haven't heard of Bacuti's, maybe I'll do a search.

Herricks quoted me $1632 for a deluxe oceanview at the Marriott. MCM quoted me $1692 for the same room. Not much of a difference...oh yeah, and MCM gives you that honeymoon package thing, the bottle of champagne, a coupon book...
Funny you mentioned the discount...I also read recently that the fares to the Carribean are about to go down cuz of a fare war between airlines. Who knows..I hope it's true!! Yes, please keep me posted!! thanks...:) JOY
