they said when it's cut to fit the aisle it ruins the marble and they have had a enough damage

yeah my church has marble floors as well.
I also believe they don't want you to have one for safety reasons- cloth on marble = disaster!

Yeah just was at a wedding and I almost slipped on the aisle runner on the marble floor---it was all bunched up by end of ceremony!!
