No best man

No best man

well, we have one - but he's in the army, and unfortunately he will have mandatory training at that time and won't be making it to the wedding. There really isn't anyone else FH wants to ask. He doesn't get along with his brothers (theyre jerks to put mildly) and doesn't really have a close friend he can ask. The rest of the groomsmen consists of my brothers and my MOH's husband. Do you think it would be weird to not have a best man and just have one of my brothers 'stand in' and hold the rings or soemthing??

I don't even know if his dad is invited. There is so much going on in this family you could write a book. I feel so bad for my FH. Then we thought maybe my dad but he will be walking me up the aisle so it would be kinda odd for him to walk up to the alter together. He might ask his brother but he's still not sure. We are runnin out of time...

unfortunately we don't have any ring bearers - yeah this sounds kinda wack but he really doesn't have any other guys he's really close with. Its just a weird situation. Thanks for your input

Maybe your Dad can just walk up there after? One of your brothers maybe?

Have you seen I Love You, Man at all? This reminds me of that movie, which was hysterical by the way!

I think that if you have a good friend, you should see if he will stand up there for you. Or, you could send FH out hunting for a best man!

If I am not mistaken (and please tell me if I am wrong) but you only legally need 1 witness to sign the marriage license . Just have a MOH and why dont you have your her hold the rings. Its just an idea

Sorry to hear about this.. I agree with everyone else - maybe the MOH or one of your brothers can hold them? And if you guys wanted, you could even say a little something about the Best Man unfortunately being away and stuff.

Re: No best man

I was at a wedding where the best man was deployed and he wasn't able to make the wedding. The bride and groom had someone stand in for him. The best part was the best man did a video that they put up on a screen and it was his speech via video. It was sooo nice.

Re: No best man

I'd just let the MOH hold the rings and leave the spot open for the BM just so everyone knows that that spots for him.

Wow, thats really nice. You can do that and let your MOH hold the rings! I am sorry to hear about your FH best man, damn the military!!

Re: No best man

Some how make it known your FH wanted him there but he couldn't there. Have your MOH hold the rings. Def don't feel pressured to have a Best man. Sorry things are not going the way you are wishing for

Is he really close to any female friends? She could be the Best 'Man'

Re: No best man

Does he have any good girl friends? It is not uncommon to have a girl as the best man, and a man as the MOH.... Does he have a sister, Aunt? Maybe a god mother he is close with?
