well, we have one - but he's in the army, and unfortunately he will have mandatory training at that time and won't be making it to the wedding. There really isn't anyone else FH wants to ask. He doesn't get along with his brothers (theyre jerks to put mildly) and doesn't really have a close friend he can ask. The rest of the groomsmen consists of my brothers and my MOH's husband. Do you think it would be weird to not have a best man and just have one of my brothers 'stand in' and hold the rings or soemthing??

I was at a wedding where the best man was deployed and he wasn't able to make the wedding. The bride and groom had someone stand in for him. The best part was the best man did a video that they put up on a screen and it was his speech via video. It was sooo nice.
I was going to suggest something like this. In the church you can have a picture of your bestman (I know someone who did that) have him sign the license before he is deployed (if possible). You can also inquire about 'live feed' where you set up a monitor at the church (this might be a little extreme) and he holds a camera where he is and watches the wedding, if not in the church you can do it at the reception for his toast.
As for the rings, have your MOH hold them, or just have FH

I would just have someone on your side stand in for him.
