I am not having a bridal party. My son and FH are wearing tuxes because my son Is walking me down the aisle. My daughter is wearing out color purple as she is maid of honor. So my future father in law stated he wants to wear a tux . We are having family walk down the aisle such as parents brothers and sisters. So my future sister in law says then all the guys should match. I wasn't telling the brothers and sisters what to wear. I wasn't really thinking of everyone being mismatched . So now of I have all the guys wearing tuxes then now do I have to have color rules for the girls? I really didn't want to do any rules but now I'm thinking I can't have his dad wear a tux and not my dad . Do I just have everyone dress in the colors or just have my son and FH wear the tuxes. I was fine until my future sister in law said it won't look right and then my FH dad saying he wants a tux. This was why I didn't want a bridal party in the first place lol

No bridal party who wears tuxes ?
You can do whatever you want...It's your wedding! Especially since you wanted to avoid a bridal party so you wouldn't have to dictate what people wore, I would just let your family choose for themselves. I think if you choose to just have your FH and son wear tuxes since they are part of the wedding, that's fine! You may want to include the dads with tuxes, especially if your mothers are wearing formal dresses. For the rest of your family, I wouldn't have them in tuxes or your colors. They're not technically part of your bridal party. My sisters and brother are in the bridal party, our dads will be wearing tuxes (my dad is walking me down the aisle), our moms are going to be dressed up, but my 2 brothers-in-law (brother-in-laws??) are not going to be wearing tuxes. We are going to ask them to be ushers and will get them a boutonniere, but I still don't think a tux is necessary since they won't be standing at the alter.

That's a great idea, maybe the dads in tuxes and get boutonnieres for the brothers that will be walking down.of course then I get the guilt treatment from my mom about my neice and nephews not walking down...my FH isn't even asking his brothers to be best man because there are two, then if he asks them the we would have to ask the rest of the siblings. This makes me not want to have a bridal party even more!!

I agree have the family in tuxes, that's a great idea. And agree with above comments, it's your weddig you can do what you want. That also makes the wedding more personal.

Some of this is very similar to my situation lol. It's just my MOH and FH's Best Man. My FH's dad is very old school and wants to wear a tux. While my dad was probably going to wear a suit, but I may try to convince him on a tux.
I think you should do how you want to do it. I think mixing up colors is cool to me; if I was having a bridal party, I probably would've done colors in my color theme, but different cuts on girls (since not all girls are comfortable with certain styles). What looks right to you, may not look right to someone else.
