Is anyone NOT having a Bridal Shower? I REALLY DO NOT want to have one. My mom told me that she and I will go out with the money she would have spent on the shower and buy things for me for the house. My FH and I have everything already. We had an engagement party and recieved everything we needed. We do not live together but all that stuff is still packed away and brand new. The last thing I need is another set of corningware. I am not into the whole shower deal anyway. Its not my kinda thing. To me it is boring and corny. But thats just me.

well, it's certainly sounds like you'll be happy without one.
FH and I didn't have an engagement party. and even though we have our own place and are not starting from scratch, there are plenty of things we need to replace or just never bought ourselves. So I definitely want a shower!

I think that is what you want to do then that is what you should do. I think it is great that your mom isn't pushing you to have one which is soemtimes the case with some moms--Whatever you want to do is what should be done.

I'm also not having a shower, but it's because my mom doesn't know about showers and stuff since I'm the first of her children to have a 'proper' wedding...I'm kind of bummed, but nothing I can do.
If you're OK with it, I say go shopping with mom!

i told everyone this week that i didn't want one too. mom, aunt, and friends are not too thrilled. i'd rather go to lunch with my different groups of friends and my family seperately than do the big ol' shower thing. it's just not me.

I'm not having one either. I has an engagement party too and got lots of stuff and I could never ask for a shower gust and a wedding gift on top of that.
I also think showers are boring and they are just not me.
Take the money and enjoy!!!

I thought I didn't want one, but as time wore on, I felt I would be missing out somehow. Also, a lot of my relatives are getting older, and we don't find as many reasons to get together anymore as we used to, so those were my reasons for having a shower.
But if you don't want one, definitely skip it, and maybe do a small get-together with close family & friends instead. That could be fun too.

I'm not having a bridal shower either.
I asked my sister and her best friend not to organize one of those things w/ strippers. I went to a bridal shower once with that type of entertainment and felt so embarrased, I left early.
So if they decide to do something for me, I hope it's one of those 'day at the spa' or a nice family get-together.
