I am seriously considering walking down the aisle with a pair of rosary beads that belonged to my aunt Kay (recently deceased) who was never able to have children and was very much like a mother to all of her neices and nephews. I just can't help but think that she was such an amazing person and strong catholic that I would feel blessed to have her 'with me' at my wedding. I had previously chosen a minitaure calla lilly and stephanotas(sp?) Bo-K. Do you think that it will look like something is missing if I choose the rosary instead of the Bok-k? I asked my FI and he said he thought it was a nice gesture and if it meant something to me then I should go for it, but I would like some honest 'bride's' opinions.

I think that if it means a lot to you, that's all that matters. I think it is a very nice gesture and don't see anything wrong with not having a bouquet!

I think that is a beautiful gesture. very very thoughtful. but i also vote on you walking down with both.
For you and your immediate family - they will understand the rosary gesture - but outsiders (friends, co-workers, etc.) it would look to them like something is missing. And the only bad part about that would be having to expalin the story 100x's when people ask.

I think that's a wonderful idea and a beautiful geture. I would at least carry either a bo-k still or maybe a single flower.

I think it would look nice. It's your day - don't carry flowers just because most others do, ya know?

Yes and it was gorgeous! She wrapped the rosary around the flowers...just a thought.

I am doing something similar. I am having a bouquet but also walking down with a locket with a picture of my little brother who passed away. It's a nice way of having him there.

I think both would be really pretty. Even if you get a simple Bo-K and have the rosary beads hang over your hand

Re: No Bride Bo-K
I vote both. My FH's mom passed away and I'm carrying her rosary beads around my wrist and holding my bo-k.

Re: No Bride Bo-K
Actually, I stand corrected. Melania held just the rosary beads as she walked down the aisle...she did have them decorated with roses...
