No children allowed.

Just say that there are no children invited to the wedding or that no one under a certain age is invited. Obviously say it a little nicer than I did, but you get the idea.

That's what I did. 18 and over please. thanks
and I just said, if we allowed one child, everyone else would be offended that their children couldn't go. Literally, we have a huge family with 100 kids including cousins.

to be honest, I wouldn't want kids there anyway, even if we had a small family. JMO, for my own wedding.

You all have been truly helpful. I really appreciate it. Most of my family would say, 'A wedding is not a wedding WITHOUT children.' I'm sure someone will have something to say, but as you all have repeatedly told me...it's my day. Thank you all for helping me feel so much better. Now, I'm seriously sticking my ground.

Who don't like it will be missing a great time!

Ladies: This woman makes my day at work everyday. I have the pleasure of sitting directly across from her.

That was too much! I literally fell off my chair for that one!

Both sound great. How would you put it nicely though?

I have a feeling that no matter how I put it, somebody is going to have something stupid to say. I just want something elegant. There will be 30 children alone from first cousins' side, so that dance floor will turn into a playground with parents letting them take over.

No matter how you put it you're right somebody will ALWAYS have something to say but as long as you say it in the nicest way possible it will be OK-after all it is your day and you should have it the way you want it!

i've also heard of people making their rsvp card options look something like this:

______ persons invited

______ persons will attend

...or something like that, so that the number of people coming is clearly spelled out. this way if they write in the kids, you can call them out on it right away and avert an unwanted situation at the wedding.

Very good idea. (will use)

I am also going to use a red stamp that says no children please.

Re: No children allowed.

don't include them on the invite & if they question you or reply w/ their names, tell them that no children under 18 & you cannot make exceptions. It's always a sticky situation, I know I'm going to have to deal w/ the same thing. I don't want kids either, except my nieces - but they are flower girls & will be picked up as soon as they are announced at the reception.
