In order to keep the GL and cost down... FH and I decided that we do not want to invite any children under the age of 16 to the wedding. Not even a flowergirl or ring bearer.
While we have a while before we have to send out invites... I'm curious to know who else is having no kids at the wedding and how you are going about doing it. Is it on the invites?

No children at the wedding...
I thought about it and considered hiring an event sitter to keep the kids busy, but I wanted it to be really party style, so I decided against it! We're going to a lounge after the reception for an after party! I'm just putting 'Adults Only Reception' on the invites.

I have seen it worded on invites at the very bottom 'Adults only reception to follow' I also read on a site where the couple put the invited guests names on the response card:
Mr. & Mrs John Smith __ will attend __ will not attend
Not sure how easy that is to have done, but it makes it pretty clear who is invited.
I think you just saved me a million years of google searches and looking up how to do no inside envelope but SHOW who is invited.
i think we you did a _______ and had the calligrapher (or ourselves) fill in the names, this could work wonders!!

I just addressed the invites to the mr. and Mrs. Not the children. If anyone rsvp's back with their child, I plan to call them and apologize for the confusion but let them know this is an adults only reception.
They should get the hint unless it is stated 'The Jones Family' that the kids are not invited.

I addressed the invited to specific people and wrote on the invitation 'adult reception to follow'

We don't have little kids in our immediate families/circle of friends... so we lucked out with that. Between my fiance & my families we only have 4 teenaged first cousins. The youngest cousin is 13... so no big deal. If we went into my first cousin's kids, then we'd be getting out of hand... but I don't really know them well enough to have them at my wedding anyway. We plan to just address the envelopes to the invited guests names and that's it.

I'm more concerned about my crazy Father and his inability to travel anywhere without his crazy little dog! I am so worried he will want to bring him to the ceremony! LOL Already I had to find a dog friendly hotel and a dog sitter!! I wish I were kidding....
