I have been rejected by 5. I can't join one because we live in Westcheter.
I am considering trying to do it up there, but I really like the Milleridge, and most of our families are on li.
We've tried 3 Catholic & 2 Episcopal chruches. They won't take outsiders. FH is trying 2 more. I can't handle anymore rejection.
I need to book the hall before it is unavailable!!

Re: no Church!
Yay! Someone actually called us back! Not only did Our Lady of Lourdes say they could marry non-parishoners, they seemed surprised that other parishes wouldn't. We have an appointment Friday. The only thing that worroies me now is that my fiance didn't ask if what date/time was avaialable.
Thanks so much for all of your suggestions, especially Charmaine, since it looks like yours might be the winner.
St. Paul's also seemed like they could help us, but it was hard to get in touch with the preist.

Re: no Church!
Did you try the chapel at CW Post?? It is interfaith. It is really pretty. You can also take pictures on the ground at Post, which has a gorgeous mansion and it is very close to Milleridge

that's not fair.....usually they make you pay an extra fee, but I've never heard of outright rejections like that. What kind/sect of church are you looking for?
I tried to get a date in a church in Yonkers but I was rejected too. However, I was told why. They said it is not fair for an outside couple book a date and then later on a couple that are parishioners all their lives want to book that same date and cannot. It puts someone that has used that Church all their life out while I, who doesn't even go to that Church and just wants to use it becuase it's conveinant to the reception hall, gets to use it.
When they put it that way, makes sense. Stinks, but makes sense.

Re: no Church!
You are soo welcome, Heather. I know how it felt not to have a church. You are required to bring in your baptism papers for both of u guys and you will have to bring in a letter of freedom from yoiur home parish. I getting ready to call my home church for those requirements. Congrats and good luck the church is very beautiful and Father Heinlein is very nice. We have to go to precana class u can do it there or go to a closer church .
