wow, I found them to be soooo cheap compared to the other photographer I met with, but maybe that's because I'm in NYC and prices are outrageous regardless.

i didnt use duet but for the price of what your paying, you are getting what you dont get at alot of other name brand vendors here on LIW. There work is great for that price... you really should re-consider

I feel the same way. Both me and my FH had tears in our eyes after watching the video. We also liked the style (something of a movie style)...but I guess it's all about personal preference...

My Fiance loved their video more than patkens. A bride posted her Duet video not too long ago and I loved it. Good luck :) Glenmar has a really good price for pictures if your interested.

i guess we considered their photography too expensive b/c their basic package has all this stuff in in that we don't want. plus, the package with video was $3800, while photo only was $3200!!! most videographers we're looking at are around $1500-$2000 so i thought duet's photo only package would be cheaper. i guess i felt like they try to push you into using both by not giving a break on photo only packages.
i think what we didn't like was the quality of the video, not so much the style. compared to the other videographers we saw, they use low tech equipment so colors, clarity, and sound did not compare. i kind of felt bad b/c i put rep on the spot and asked him to play part of the ceremony so i could hear quality of sound. he played a smidge bit and then shut it off telling us mics/sound was perfect. no offense to him, but a camera mic just does not produce same quality as digital mics (i think they're called digital mics - lol, this is why i shouldn't get techie!). plus, with the vendors with the other mics, they put mics all over the place (groom, podium, on mics officiant is using) so they get really clear sound. AND it gives them the ability to put sound on different track and they overlay it throughout the film. too boot, fiance was not happy with their use of special effects.
anyhow, i'm not knocking anyone who's using them. i can definitely see how their films appeal to people. they just weren't what we were looking for.

If you want to still book seperate video, call Ray at Timeless Treasures.... He is so nice and is work is great. Very reasonable prices.

If I may recommend Classic Video Productions in Commack. My FH is really into computers and the technical side of things. The guy at Classic Video spent so much time answering FH's questions and FH felt that he knew his stuff in terms of technology, editing and filming skill! They are pricier than some but have packages right in your range!

Do what is right for you. There are a ton out there and you need to feel right on who you pick.
