No Garter toss or Bouqet throwing.

We are 36 & 38 so basically everyone is married & we are kinda the last ones. Atleast in my family anyway.
We are going to do the Anniversary dance. can anyone suggest anything else?

I'm nervous that when I go to throw my bouquet no one will be on the floor!

Yeah, we're about the same. . so don't think we'll toss either. Besides I promised my MOH I would just hand it to her. I don't have any other ideas though. What is the anniv dance?

the anniversary dance is where all the married couples get up to dance. As the song continued the DJ says 'If you are married less than 5 years please leave the floor..' the number of years increases as the number of couples on the floor decreases. At the end you are left with one couple who gets the boquet!

All couples start out on the floor and they start by..if youve been married 5 yrs stay dancing, 10 yrs, 15, 20, etc.. until there's one couple left who's been married the longest

Also with the bouquet thing. I always remember being the one that was forced up there and I dreaded it. Why do we hate going up there and yet people still do it.

the song I picked for anniversary dance is....
Remember when by Alan Jackson.

It's so beautiful!!

Thats cool. MY Bm are as follows....
16 yr old
Then my sister, BF & FH cousins wife
They are all married with kids.
My Family was talking and on my side of 60 people...very small. This is the last wedding until the kids grow up again. Isn't that sad.
I hate being last. LOL

Instead of the bouquet/garter thing, and in lieu of the anniversary dance, we're going to give the bouquet to the next couple to get married (they got engaged about 2 months ago) and ask them to dance a 'slow' song with us on the dance floor.

I want to adjust the anniversary dance a bit to include the 5 couples that are getting married within 6 months of my wedding ;... so they'll invite anyone engaged to be or actually married and then they can sit before us!

I am planning on giving a speech something like this:
Traditionally, the bride throws the bouquet for a lucky bachelorette to catch and it is supposed to be good luck for her. However, I never really believed in that. So, in leiu of the bouquet toss I would like to give my bouquet to someone who has taught me how to love and how to be loved.

I'm sure you know where this is going...I'm going to give the bouquet to my mom.

This is so touching....does your mom know that you are doing this? A surprise would be even more touching. So nice of you to honor your mother like that

i'm not doing any of those traditions either... i run from the dance floor when the mc announces for all the 'single ladies to get out there!'
i've been to so many weddings and have never seen the anniversary dance!
