Well i must tearfully say that we aren't doing a HM. I'm kinda upset- i was really kinda looking foward to it. FH says it's just not do-able because we are trying to move out of state right after the wedding. He says it will be better in the long run to save for our place to live. FH hasn't had work in over a month. So i've been paying for the bulk of things right now. I'm kinda depressed about this whole thing, but i don't tell him or my family. I had heard about registering your HM. I had looked into it a long time ago, but it didn't work for our trip. Maybe i'll win mega millions tonite. Thanks for letting me vent.

Re: no HM
I'm sorry...we too are probably not going on a HM either, or if so, not for almost a year later....so I do know how depressing it is, especially when you read all the other girls talking about booking these dream HMs, and you know you're going to be sitting home (if you even find one), with nothing...

I'm sorry you're so upset. Can you and your FH try to plan a 'mini-moon' getaway for just an overnight or a weekend? Maybe somewhere kind of local like Eastern Long Island, NYC, the Jersey shore??

You can do one later maybe! We're planning on doing ours almost a year later because FH is a teacher and can't take off from work. Don't give up hope!

I am sorry to hear this. We are going to the coast of Maine for our HM to cut back on cost. Maybe you can just get away for a day or two together, or save up to have your HM on your year anniversary? I look at it this way, the most important thing is you are marrying the man you love. The rest of your life is the HM!!!

Absoultely agree! It's ok to be upset but definitely look into a weekend away- a few hundred and a car....and the man you love is all you need.

Re: no HM
Sorry you upset, I know its hard. I am not having a 'traditional' honeymoon. Just maybe a long (4 day) weekend with FH. We will have a honeymoon once we can fit it into our budget, maybe for your 1 year anniversary.

Im so sorry!! Maybe you can go on a 1-2 day getaway close to home? I find a trip to AC to be fun & romantic because you can walk on the boardwalk and walk down to the beach at night.
You could also take a trip in a year or so.

I am so sorry to hear that. You should do a mini moon though - a few days, a weekend. I know things are tight but I think you deserve it and thing just pass by way too quick. I wish you the best!

ITA you deserve a something after the long hard planning ...maybe even a couples spa day or a trip to AC search for deals/ coupons I am sure you can find something .....close to home and cheap.
it does not have to be Hawaii to be a great honeymoon so long as you and your FH are together
FH tried to pull this on me as well and I searched high and low and found a dirt cheap deal for the Bellagio in vegas for a week. We may not be going to Aruba anymore but is something!
