NO I AM NOT PEREGGO, BUT i have a question

What do think about the name Simone (See-món) for a girl? would people misspell it/or missprononce it? or think it's a boy? Or say it in the wrong way and make fun of her because it sounds like something else?

My grandfather's name was Simon and he passed away a month ago. I was just thinking how I could honor his name.

I am just asking for the future, i am not preggo, honest!

I think its a great name...and I think people know the correct way to say it...

DH's grandfather was Xime (Spanish version of Simon) and his nephews middle name is Simon...I think its a lovely way to honor him

I think it's a pretty name, and also that ppl will be OK w/the pronounciation.

BTW, I've known my children's names for years and have never been preggo LOL

I love the name Simone! What a great way to honor your grandfather, while giving your daughter a beautiful name.

I like the name and I think educated people won't mispronounce it, especially if its spelled with an apostrophe... I can see some of the less educated people mispronouncing it, but it shouldn't deter you from naming someone Simone (it reminds me of the movie of the same name)

Heck, people call me Michael instead of Michele. My sister's name is Tammy is people have I SWEAR called her Pammy, Sammy and a ton of other names. I wouldn't care about that at all. I would name my child the name I liked.

I love it!

Don't give a thought to pronounciation... it's harmless to have to correct people. My friend Siobhan (Sha-vaughn) just named her daughter Ciara (Keera), and people have the NERVE to tell her 'poor kid... she'll be pronouncing her name for people for the rest of her life!!!' As if Siobhan never had to...
