we live in a townhouse, and our neighbor is ALWAYS smoking on her deck or front porch and we cannot keep the windows open because all of the smoke blows in the house And now, her sister lives with her adn it's smoke times two. They both have these disgusting, hacking coughs, leathery skin and voice-box-like voices and I just don't understand how someone can do that to themselves. Even JT's mom is smoking again and she just had a lung removed due to lung cancer! I just get so emotional over the issue of smoking because I have seen what it can do to people, so when someone else's smoke is invading my space, I get MAD! My mother claims we cannot say anyhting to our neighbors, which I guess she's right about, but it's so disgusting. They throw their cigarette butts in our bushes, and even when they're not out there, it smells gross. ARGH! just so annoyed, but at the same time, I really worry about their health!

i would absolutely say something to them, especially if they are littering on your property.

yes...littering on your property gives you right to A: say something to them or B: complain to the mgmt ofc.

I quit (although I do have the occasional one when out w/ some friends) but even lately it grosses me out when I pass a smoker in the street..I have to hold my breath.

I guess we really don't NEED to complain becuase my father is on the board of the home owner's association and apparently has a letter in the works to these people, but I don't see what that's going to do. We share the bush that they are throwing it in becuase it's a town house, so it's technically their's, as well. It's so stupid, they just don't get it. Some people are like that. And like my mother said, it's not like we can ask them to smoke somewhere else, they're on their property and it's their right. As annoyed with them as I am, I really do worry about their health. They can't possibly be healthy people. They don't work and they never go inside, they just sit and smoke all day. I know that it's hard to quit, but it worries me to see people smoke, especially as much as they do. They remind me a lot of JT's mother and I think that is why I am so concerned. I sound weird, I know, but it's what goes through my head.
