No one is coming to my shower!

No one is coming to my shower!

There is a Confirmation Party on FI's side of the family the day of my shower, so my sister said most of his family has rsvp'd no to my shower. I guess my mom will be relieved to not have to pay so much for the shower. But I'm kind of bummed.

Oh I am sorry, I know I got like 10 no's due to a trip some had planned to Mohegan Sun before my shower date was booked. Maybe they will send a gift, hey I'll come!

You're so sweet Jenn! I guess I should appreciate the fact that I will then know more people at my shower instead of meeting new people and it being a little awkward.

oh, i'm sorry! My shower will be pretty small too - most of my FI's family and my friends live kind of far away.

Wasn't your FI invited to the Confirmation Party or your FMIL? Maybe it's a trick! SURPRISE. If not, you'll have fun. I think more intimate showers are much more personable and fun to go to then those big factory ones, where you can barely speak to everyone. It will be beautiful.

There were only 16 or 17 people at my shower and it was still fun! I bet they will send you sme gifts anyway! Cheer up! Maybe they are saying it to 'throw you off' too? Try not to worry! I hope you feel better!

Don't worry you will have a great time no matter what! My friend is marrying somone from Ohio and I doubt anyone from his side will fly out for it.

Re: No one is coming to my shower!

The shower is not a surprise b/c I live in San Diego and my shower is in NY, so I had to plan a trip out there and book a flight for it. There was no way it could be a surprise. The family of my FI's that has the confirmation party is more extended family anyway, that is why he was not invited to the party and my FMIL is not invited either (she lives in Fla). My FMIL is coming to my shower though with his sister. All of the people replying no, I don't know them yet anyway.

Oh I hear that one, so many people didnt come to my shower because some other cousins planned a baby shower for that day (after my invites went out). Sorry about your situation.

Re: No one is coming to my shower!

Don't feel bad -- no one including my FMIL is coming from my fiance's family to my shower. My FMIL is not into the wedding thing and not willing to travel 4 hours (NY to DC) to her FDIL's shower.

I am sad about this - but I am excited I will have more time to spend with my family and friends (including 4 out of 5 BM's who are coming from out of town).

Same here!! I am not sure yet if FMIL will make the trip (also DC to NY) but I highly doubt it. MAYBE if I give her a ride, but probably not even then.

Edited to say: Hey, DCMaybride, we have a whole little group that's planning from DC...at least 8 or 10 of us now...!
