No Petals allowed at church --Help!

We met with our church today and found out that we will not be allowed to have rose petals thrown

The priest was telling us about this 'new' thing that people are using to throw, but he didn't know exactly what it was. He said it was completely harmless for animals if they were to eat it and it is dissolvable so it washes away. He thought maybe it was from Martha Stewart but I looked at her website and didnt see anything like it.

I am so curious what he is talking about...has anyone heard of anything like this???

you can find it at michaels. its candy hearts that are edible and wont hurt birds if they pick it up plus they get squished anyway after when people start walking away.

I came across a website that sells ecofetti which i think is what he might have been talking about.

My church said no too but we are going to do it anyway. We are just going to have someone clean it up before we leace

What about throwing birdseed? I think that is what we are going to do for our wedding

unfortunately no birdseed allowed either...
all that is allowed is wands with bells or bubbles or the 'ecofetti'
